“Untamed” by Glennon Doyle is her newest book and picks up her life story after the events of “Love Warrior.” After thoroughly enjoying “Love Warrior,” reading her next book was an easy decision, though it seemed at first that there was nowhere left to go and nothing left of Glennon’s life to explore after everything that happened in “Love Warrior.” But boy, was I wrong.

“Untamed” is as memorable as Doyle’s previous works for her stunning writing and visceral storytelling, but it is not as painful or heart-wrenching. “Love Warrior” was so compelling to me partly because it made me cringe and hold my breath at the same time. It gripped me in a way few other books have. But “Untamed” feels calmer in a way. More settled. I suppose this is because the author is in a wholly new phase of her life and how she chooses to use her gift of writing now is different from how she used her writing in the past. Doyle was finding herself in her previous books, but in "Untamed," she is found. She is solid, unashamed, powerful, confident, but still the anxious introverted woman she always was. It’s hard to explain, but it seems Doyle just knows more now. About herself, about her feelings, her anger, her thoughts and wants and needs. She is more in touch with herself, and she shares it well in this book. There were so many relatable moments in this book and so many chapters I want to go back and read and reread again and again. I was reminded of my own mother, as I’m sure many others will be when they read this book. I finished the book inspired and hopeful. It made me want to explore more deeply the things that make me, me. Why do I do, think, feel, say the things that I do? How can I find my purpose and live my truest, most beautiful life? Overall, a strong book that I recommend all women should read.
