Summary of this Book...
Book three of the Housewife series finds Helen confidently settled into her new life. Things seem to be going so well, that she agrees to take over organizing Christmas for her best friend. As Leoni deals with the tribulations of three small kids and a well-meaning husband, Helen finds herself in over her head. Her larger than life boss expects her to take care of all his seasonal arrangements too. While trying to keep it all together, Helen is forced to deal with the idea that her sister may not be the put-together woman she thought.
This type of Book is good for...
If you appreciate outlandish characters or adult humor, you might like this book.
I especially liked...
I especially liked how we get to learn more about Helen's circle. In book 2, we got a good look at Leoni and were able to understand her character better. In this book, it's Helen's sister, Julia, that we explore.
I didn't like...
First of all, someone should have told the author that the title may cause confusion for some folks. Besides that, I have to admit that this book wasn't what I expected, or wanted, from an established series. The Helen in book 3 doesn't seem like the same Helen as the first two books. It's normal for the main character to change as they grow throughout the series, but I feel like I missed a book.
When I finished reading this Book I wanted to...
Even though Housewife on Top was a little disappointing, I still plan on finishing the series. If nothing else, they're sure to make me laugh.
This Book made me feel...
Possible Spoiler

From the book blurb, I thought Helen would have a much harder time organizing Christmas for everyone. It kind of pisses me off that she's able to go about her everyday business, handle everything for Leoni's family of five, take care of Rick's entourage, and deal with her sister's secrecy without any mishaps. Talk about unrealistic!
The author of this Book...
Alison Penton Harper grew up in London and worked in advertising for twenty years before writing her first novel, Housewife Down.
I recommend this Book because...
While the plot lacks imagination, the cast of characters is so outrageous, that I couldn't help laughing out loud.
Further Comments...
Alison Penton Harper's Housewife series consists of:

Housewife Down
Housewife Up
Housewife on Top
Housewife in Love
Housewife in Trouble
