Summary of this Book...
Grab your towel and hitch a ride through outter space using the Improbability Drive! Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is a hilarious yarn telling the tale of Arthur Dent and his not-so-normal, out-of-work actor friend, Ford Prefect as they travel through space dealing with bad poetry(the third worst in the galaxy, actually), depressed robots named Myron, and a hippie for a president- Zaphod Beeblebrox.
This type of Book is good for...
Getting rid of your worries and your troubles. Really, just letting go of yourself for a while and enjoying a hilarious book.
I especially liked...
How stupidly funny this book is and how it needs you to let go of all serious, coherant thoughts in order to understand it. I read it in eigth grade for the first time and I remember that half the class couldn't understand it because they tried to think while reading it. If there was ever a book for a non morning person to read in the morning, it's this.
I didn't like...
Completely not available. The entire book was amazing- especially the part about the fjords winning prizes.
When I finished reading this Book I wanted to...
Read all the other books and go around quoting random things from them just to freak people out.
This Book made me feel...
Like laughing my behind off and running around, quoting things from it. It also kinda made me feel free from serious, thinking books (I had read Farenheit 451 previously in class)
The author of this Book...
Douglas Adams, may he rest in peace, is a complete and total literary God! I was in mourning for his death for almost a year after he died.
I recommend this Book because...
It is one of the funniest books ever written and only a complete genious could've ever written them, which makes it worth the time anyway- right?
I don't recommend this Book because...
If you can't let go of yourself and just accept that certain things do NOT make sense, then I don't recommend this book to you.
Further Comments...
Adams also wrote more books in this series:
The Restaurant At the End of the Universe
Life, the Universe, and Everything
So Long, and Thanks for the Fish

and
Mostly Harmless

In order to get these titles, you must must must read this book!!!
