Summary of this Book...
Doubleshot is a different kind of Bond novel. It has been two months since Bond was up in the Himalayas in High Time to Kill, and he is recovering from injuries sustained there. The Union are now out to get him. The substitute one of Bond's medications for something else, and Bond believes he's going crazy. He has frequent blackouts. He is in the apartment of his doctor and finds her murdered, thinking he did it. There is also someone the Union created, an almost exact double of James Bond, all except for the accent, which is Welsh. The Union set Bond up for murdering tourists. Bond ends up going on the run. 007 takes matters into his own hands. He goes to Morocco where he finds the Union men from London. His Moroccan friend is killed and he waked up with one of his two guns missing. The Union set Bond up for the murder of the tourists. Two female CIA agents catch Bond in Africa. Together they go after the Union in Spain, where Bond confronts his double. Bond kills his double and takes his place on the Union mission in Gibraltar, which is to kill the governor of Gibraltar, the Spanish Prime Minister and the British Prime Minister. Together with the two CIA agents and 001, Bond stops the Unions plan and captures on of their most brilliant minds. Bond has surgery and has his condition repaired.

I didn't really like it whenever Bond blacked out, because it leaves a small gap in the story.

Raymond Benson really puts Bond ahead from the days of Ian Fleming and John Gardner, pushing him forward into the 21st century.

I highly recommend this book because it is very interesting and has a unique plot, plus it is very fast paced.
