This is the third book in the Maisie Dobbs detective series. As we move toward 1930, Maisie has a case where she is asked to find two men who are missing from WWI. Their cases intersect and she has to confront danger in her own life.

There is a lot going on in this one. I enjoyed the first two more, but look forward to reading #4. I liked Maisie in all three, but in this one she is all over the place in so many things that it was, at times, hard to follow. I am sticking with it, though.

The writing is very compelling and I do enjoy the interaction she has with her mentor and with her assistant, who she mentors.
