This is a fun and entertaining collection of rhyming poetry about some unusual cats. In addition to writing about cats with wild names such as Mungojerrie, Rumpelteazer, and Skimbleshanks it covers T.S. Elliot's theories on cat names and how a cat should properly be addressed.

I loved just about everything about this book. The poems were highly creative and fun to read. The rhyming was lovely and varied. I could easily picture the cats and scenes being described in my mind, even the outlandish, improbable and nearly impossible.

The version I had had fantastic illustrations but they didn't necessarily match the cats being described. However, they were totally enjoyable. I just wanted the cats to match up better.

Write some fun and fantastical cat poems.

Entertained, happy and like I was reading a Dr. Seuss for cat-loving adults. I think I laughed out loud several times.

Is a fantastic poet.

It was a great read and provides some nice poetic inspiration.

I borrowed the paperback copy that was illustrated by Edward Gorey from my local library. I really enjoyed it and will likely read this book again.
