Summary of this Book...
This book has left me feeling a little disappointed. Having read a few of its reviews before I chose to read it, I expected it to be a rip-roaring ride of suspense and drama. And, to some extent, it was. There was certainly a feeling of imminent danger through the whole book. The author did that well. But it all just fell a little flat, for me.

I didn’t particularly like any of the characters. I didn’t really understand Holly’s motives for helping MI5. They refused her entry and broke her heart. Which reminds me: the beginning, with her interview to enter MI5, was not a strong beginning. I wasn’t sure I wanted to continue reading at first. I wasn’t really sure what was happening.

But, back to Holly and her motives. I get that she was afraid of Zac. But, why would she put herself and her unborn child in extra danger? It didn’t seem realistic to me. Jane is the answer, I guess. She wanted to help Jane. But, still, to risk her own child for an unknown woman? And the life of her unborn child whom she claimed she would do anything to protect?

I loved the part where Holly visited Eliza and Zac came home. Very tense. If there had been more of that through the book, I would have enjoyed it more. I guess I wanted more tension, more fear for Holly. I wanted to read more of the psychological thriller and less of the spy novel. I should have really realised there would be a lot of spying involced in a novel called ‘I Spy.’

I loved the part at the end where the killer is unveiled and Holly is on the cliff edge. That is really exciting, and I ripped through that part of the story. I liked the ending … until the very end. Again, I didn’t find it believable.

All in all, I did enjoy this book. I wouldn’t say I loved it, but I did stick with it until the end, so it had enough to hold my interest.
This type of Book is good for...
People who like psychological thrillers. Those with a passing interest in spy-related novels.
I especially liked...
The ending. At least, the ending right before the very end.
I didn't like...
The very end. There was also too much mention of spies and MI5. A lot of it didn't seem very believable to me.
This Book made me feel...
Disappointed. Annoyed. A little incredulous.
I recommend this Book because...
It is a fast-paced read, and it will take you pretty quickly through the action. It is exciting at times. The twist is a good one.
I don't recommend this Book because...
It's a little unbelievable.
