Summary of this Book...
This story begins with the death of Sheila Garber. She is found dead at the wheel of her car with a high blood alcohol reading. She has parked her car on an off ramp and has been hit by another car, in which two of the occupants also died.

This story follows Sheila’s husband, Glen, as he tries to find out what really happened. Sheila would never have done something so stupid as drink and drive. Would she? And then, Glen’s eight-year-old daughter, Kelly, overhears part of a conversation she shouldn’t have at her best friend, Emily’s, house. Then Emily’s Mum dies in suspicious circumstances, and even more deaths follow, and the whole time, Glen is feeling like he is under attack.

There are so many plot twists I wouldn’t know where to begin. This story is filled with suspense, and I was on the edge of my seat for, pretty much, the entire book. It is really exciting. And it kept me guessing right until the end. I don’t think anyone will guess what really happened here. The plot is genius.

I am a huge fan of Linwood Barclay. This is the fifth book of his, and I have been reading them all in order. I didn’t think he would ever get better than his debut, ‘No Time For Goodbye,’ but this one is close. I loved it. His characters were individual and relatable. Glen, in particular, I rooted for because he was tearing his hair out to do the right thing, and the people he trusted most in the world were letting him down all over the place. And, Kelly. She is so cute. I was really moved by Barclay’s depiction of this little girl whose world was falling apart.

Brilliant! Absolutely brilliant.
This type of Book is good for...
Fans of thrillers. People who like an exciting ride when they read.
I especially liked...
The suspense. The plot is truly genius. I didn't know who I could trust. Except for Glen and Kelly, who are at the centre of the story. I tried so hard to work out how Sheila could have been drunk behind the wheel, and whys would have wanted to die. I never even came close to figuring it out.
When I finished reading this Book I wanted to...
Read every book this man has written!
This Book made me feel...
Excited. Happy. Filled with suspense.
The author of this Book...
Linwood Barclay. His plots are always clever. The first book of his I ever read was 'No Time For Goodbye,' and I read the whole book on a ferry coming home from France. I couldn't take my eyes away from the page, and this book was the same.
I recommend this Book because...
It's so clever. It's so well-written. It's fast-paced. Kelly is a really cutie.
