Summary of this Book...
"From the Back Cover
Narnia ... where anything can happen (and most often does) ... and where the adventure begins. The Dawn Treader is the first ship Narnia has seen in centuries. King Caspian has built it for his voyage to find the seven lords. Good men whom his evil uncle Miraz banished when he usurped the throne. The joinery takes Edmund, Lucy, their cousin Eustace, and Caspian to the Eastern Islands, beyond the Silver Sea, toward Aslan's country at the End of the World. Enter this enchanted world countless times in the Chronicles of Narnia."

This is the fifth book in the "Chronicles of Narnia" series and I am thoroughly enjoying the series. They are imaginative and fun to read.

This book got to a slower start for me but once the kids were in Narnia it was loads of fun. I felt like I was right there with them in certain parts of the adventure. At first I was quite put out with Eustace but it was nice to see his growth arc. The full circle bit at the end made me chuckle.

This book is very different from the others, even though it has some familiar characters. It felt like a series of short stories with a unifying beginning and ending, more than a regular novel, but I still loved it.
This type of Book is good for...
People who like young adult stories, fantasy stories, adventure, magic, paranormal, beautiful scenes (especially near the end), or just a good story.
I especially liked...
So much... I think the last "story" with the sea of lilies and the amazing view of Asland's land and the mouse's final scene. I loved so many of the characters and how varied they were. The idea of a personified star was fantastic. The uglies were hilarious. There was a lot of imagination and fun in this book.
I didn't like...
I think the section where Eustace got lost could have been a lot shorter. I almost switched books because it was getting rather tedious but once he saw the dragon, it was great for me from there on.
When I finished reading this Book I wanted to...
Go to bed, because it was late. *Smile*
This Book made me feel...
Like I was part of the adventure. I laughed and cried and felt the whole range of feelings.
The author of this Book...
"Clive Staples Lewis (1898-1963) was one of the intellectual giants of the twentieth century and arguably one of the most influential writers of his day. He was a Fellow and Tutor in English Literature at Oxford University until 1954, when he was unanimously elected to the Chair of Medieval and Renaissance Literature at Cambridge University, a position he held until his retirement. He wrote more than thirty books, allowing him to reach a vast audience, and his works continue to attract thousands of new readers every year. His most distinguished and popular accomplishments include Out of the Silent Planet, The Great Divorce, The Screwtape Letters, and the universally acknowledged classics The Chronicles of Narnia. To date, the Narnia books have sold over 100 million copies and have been transformed into three major motion pictures." from Amazon.
I recommend this Book because...
It was a fun read.
