Summary of this Book...
Note that I technically listened to this book through Audible. It's 15 hours and 9 minutes long and rated 4.6 stars. The Kindle book linked here is rated 4.5 stars and is 449 pages.

This is a strange and creepy story about people with missing tattoos and missing memories that accompany the tattoos and about a weird, hairless man described as a worm and who refers to himself as "The Lord of the Flies."

Pine Deep has struggled with its share of paranormal problems, including what is referred to in the story as "The Trouble," some horrible event in the recent past that caused 1/3 of the population to die and most of the rest to flee. The story centers around several characters, a local Vietnamese tattoo artist whose young daughter was murdered when they were living in Vietnam, her veteran friend who carries invisible war scars, the local law enforcement members, including one who is hiding a secret of his own, a married woman who wants to explore her sexuality, against her husband's wishes, and several others.

The crux of the plot is that people's tattoos begin to fade and with the fading tattoo, the memories attached to it fade as well. They are on a search for who or what is causing it.
This type of Book is good for...
People who enjoy mysteries, suspense, thriller, paranormal/supernatural, mild horror, etc.
I especially liked...
I really enjoyed the pacing of the story and how they kept me always wanting to know more about what was happening. I still want to know more about The Trouble that Pine Deep experienced a few years ago. We got glimpses and snatches, but I'd listen to a whole story about it and located it on Audible. It's a much shorter story, so I'll hear that soon.
When I finished n/a this Book I wanted to...
Look to see if there were other books set in this town. There are. *Smile*
I recommend this Book because...
It was interesting, suspenseful, creepy, and it kept me wanting to listen to it, even when I wasn't supposed to be.
