Summary of this Book...
Note that I listened to this book via Audible audiobooks. I couldn't get the item to load, so I'm reviewing it as a paperback. If you click this link to buy the book, you will be supporting WdC. *Smile*

As a paperback on Amazon, this book is 212 pages and rated 4.6 stars out of 5. On Audible, this book is 5 hours and 48 minutes and is rated 4.9 stars.

This book is the 4th of 6 in The Wicked Witches of the Midwest Fantasy Series, which is a part of The Wicked Witches of the Midwest universe which contains The Wicked Witches of the Midwest Mystery Series and quite a few shorts as well. This book is number 22 in the universe's chronological order.

In this book, Bay and her boyfriend, Landon, decide they want to spend Christmas alone instead of with the family. Per usual for this series (and perhaps the whole universe, I can't say for sure as I've only listened to the fantasy series from this universe), Aunt Tillie decides she wants things her way and since they aren't going her way, she's going to teach a lesson to Bay and Landon (as well as Bay's 2 cousins and their boyfriends who also all play to spend Christmas as couples instead of with the family). Each cousin and their boyfriend are put in their own twisted version of a Christmas movie. Bay and Landon end up in "A Christmas Carol," complete with Christmas past, present, and future. They all learn multiple lessons along the way and also refer back to other times Aunt Tillie tried to teach them lessons, so reading the earlier books in the fantasy series would make this more enjoyable, but they aren't strictly necessary.
This type of Book is good for...
People who like fantasy series about witches, though there isn't a whole lot of spell casting or potion making and any that is done, isn't really center stage. If it weren't for Aunt Tillie transporting them into various places (dreams, books, her own mind, etc.), this really could be a series about a quirky family with an extra quirky Aunt.
I especially liked...
The version of Christmas future when Aunt Tillie imagines everyone is now miserable because they missed Christmas with her in the past and it ruined their lives. I thought that was quite amusing.
I didn't like...
When they talked about the star from their grandmother's Christmas tree getting broken when the cousins were all kids. I don't understand how a house full of witches couldn't put it back together again. Perhaps I need to listen to the other books in this universe, but I really don't see why they don't use their magic more. For example, why are Bay and Landon struggling to shovel the snow from their driveway? Isn't there some spell for that? I don't get it, but like I said, this might be explained in earlier books from this universe, but in the other series or in one of the shorts.
When I finished reading this Book I wanted to...
Move on to listening to the next book--not because it was SO amazingly great, but I am curious about it.
I recommend this Book because...
While I wouldn't suggest folks run out to get this book, like I would others I've read, it was pretty good, especially compared to the 1st of this series. I don't consider this series a waste of time, but am glad it's only 6 books long (at this time). If I could give it half stars, I'd probably give it 4 1/2. But this series might be considered young adult and that could be why I'm not enjoying it as much as I could. I don't tend to like the young adult genre.
