Summary of this Book...
Note that I listened to this book on Audible, but it wouldn't let me review it as an audiobook, so I'm reviewing the paperback. The paperback is 212 pages long and the audiobook is 5 hours and 48 minutes. The paperback is rated 4.5 stars on Amazon and the audiobook is rated 4.7 stars on Audible.

This book is book 6 of a (currently) 6-book series, The Wicked Witches of the Midwest Fantasy Series. This is a part of the Wicked Witches of the Midwest universe which includes The Wicked Witches of the Midwest Mystery Series and a number of shorts. Chronologically, this is book 25 in this universe.

This book departs from the other fantasy books in this series in that they aren't transported to another place, physically or mentally. In previous books, they were trapped in a fairy tale book, Aunt Tillie's mind, soap opera, etc. But this time everything takes place in real time as real events as with any normal book.

In this book, there is a mysterious crash in a field and Landon, an FBI agent, is forced to work against his girlfriend, Bay, who also happens to be a witch. Typically, they are on the same side, but this book requires her to seek information about the crash without him knowing and he's not allowed to share what little he does know with her. Aunt Tillie and Bay's cousins (all witches) decide to investigate as the unusual things around town begin to pile up and they each have theories from UFOs to government drones. Ultimately, it seems they may all be wrong.
This type of Book is good for...
This book seems to be written for a young adult when you consider the writing style and genre. But young adult novels have older teens or young adults as their stars. Most of the main characters in this series seem to be in their mid-to-late 20's. But still, if you enjoy the young adult genre, you may enjoy this series.
I especially liked...
I'm so glad they FINALLY started using some magic for practical things. I didn't understand why they rarely used magic and usually not for things one would think they would. Though this might be explained in one of the shorts or The Wicked Witches of the Midwest Mysteries Series. In any event, they finally used magic to conjure some light and to warm their feet at different points. Why they didn't use it to make themselves invisible or at least noiseless when going through the woods or to conjure binoculars or at least give themselves better distance vision when the crash was too far away, I still don't understand. But at least they used a couple of spells a couple of times. But there was no indication of how they did the spells, so if you are hoping for a bubbling cauldron or magic words, you'll be disappointed.
The author of this Book...
For those interested, it seems the author uses the 24-chapter outline for her books. I haven't plotted any of her books chapter by chapter to see how closely she holds to this outline style, but she does seem to hold relatively closely to it, if not fully. If you aren't familiar with this style, here's a video. https://www.pinterest.com/pin/690880399071882638/
I recommend this Book because...
If you've gotten this far into the series, I definitely recommend this book. I think it was my favorite so far. I wouldn't necessarily recommend you read the series if you haven't started it as it's not my favorite, but it wasn't a complete waste of time and it does grow on you as you read it. The books are fairly short and each seems to be better than the last.
