Summary of this Audible Books & Originals...
This audiobook is 14 hours and 16 minutes as an audiobook and 398 pages as a book. It's rated 4.6 stars. It's the 3rd of the 3-book series from The Broken Earth with the 1st 2 books being The Fifth Season and The Obelisk Gate. All 3 books have won Hugo Awards and the author is the 1st to win this award 3 years in a row.

I rated this book as 18+ because of language. Though most language is made up such as "What the rust?" But there are a couple of times when real language is used.

This book continues the story about a dystopian future where people who can use magic and such are shunned, but needed to protect the "stills" (people who can't use magic) from the Earth's dangers--earthquakes, etc. "Father Earth," angry over losing his "son," the moon, also tries to kill people through "seasons" that can last centuries. Powerful Essun is working to save humanity by bringing the moon back into the Earth's orbit to appease Father Earth. However, her estranged daughter, Nassun, is working to destroy humanity in order to save her Guardian. Will the 2 be reconciled? Who will win this battle for humanities' future?
This type of Audible Books & Originals is good for...
People who enjoy short series, dystopian books, and fantasy/sci-fi stories.
I especially liked...
How the book didn't end with a totally pollyanna resolution.
I didn't like...
That this series isn't something you can mindlessly listen to. You need to pay attention because there are a lot of details, not to mention, so many things that are not native to our world that are in this world, so you need to know what they are and to understand how they interplay in the story. The story isn't specifically hard to follow, but one does need to pay attention as the plot and subplots are intricate and can't be ignored while fully enjoying the story.
The n/a of this Audible Books & Originals...
Is very talented. She also used this book to express her views on racism and concerns for the future, though if you don't have interest in this, you can enjoy the book without these theme interfering .
I recommend this Audible Books & Originals because...
This is an award-winning series, so each book is enjoyable, including this one.
