About Me
I am an increasingly infrequent writer, but someday when the craziness of my life settles into something somewhat more predictable, I'll hopefully still be capable enough to write about how crazy--or at least ironic--my life has been. I stubbornly remain an optimist, however, and things in many aspects of my life are looking up... but hopefully I still have a lot of issues to work out... the strongest motivator with which I am familiar (in my limited experience) for continuing to write!
Type of Writer
I am a short-attention, sporadic but passionate writer--yet still struggling to find meaning in both poetry and passion.
Writing Style
I hope the writing style I achieve is conversational. Relatable. But, I hope as well, it's worth taking the time to read.
Interests
Running, swimming, triathlons, karaoke, reading and writing. Movies, puzzles, song and movie trivia.
My Blog
asigoblogdotcom.wordpress.com
Favorite Genres
Realistic fiction with some suspense or action, contemplative and/or psychologically/emotionally rich fiction, scifi, fantasy
Favorite Books
ALL CREATURES GREAT AND SMALL, SING YOU HOME, THE HELP, THE COLOR PURPLE, STAYING FAT FOR SARAH BYRNES, and a number of others I can't recall right now.
Favorite Authors
James Herriot, Jodi Picoult, and Chris Crutcher for starters.
Favorite Poets
Robert Frost, Robert Browning. I should read more poetry, but these poets have written some of my favorite lines and/or phrases.
Favorite Quote
What? Just one? OK, here's a pretty good one, by Robert Louis Stevenson: “The difficulty of literature is not to write, but to write what you mean.”
Favorite Music
Journey, Pat Benatar, Michael Buble, George Michael, and so much more.
Favorite Movies
BICENTENNIAL MAN, MY SISTER'S KEEPER, ZWARTBOEK (BLACK BOOK), and many others.
Favorite Shows
I'm not sure I have any favorite shows at this time. A not-so-recent favorite is WEST WING. I also used to watch a lot of MONK and HOUSE. But I'm just too busy to find anything new I like lately (although I still like JEOPARDY & WHEEL OF FORTUNE!)
