Soundtrack for Your Life Prompt: What were you listening to last year? And in the Acapella continuation here are Pentatonix with Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody It truly is amazing what they can do. The first time I saw them was on a Glee Club competition show. It was a blast. I believe Pentatonix won. I can definitely see why. I love this song. It is another one of those songs I sing to myself on occasion. A few lyrics that often get stuck in my head... why? I have no idea. "Mama. Just a killed a man. Soundtrack for Your Life Prompt: What were you listening to last year? Glee... a television show with a musical, acappella bent. Now that is what it's all about. Especially when Journey is often a big choice of music. Don't Stop Believing. This is from the pilot. So much of the story plays out under the words of that song. Those that are not on stage singing all have a part to play in the future of the Glee Club. Corny, but my kind of thing. It is sad to remember that the guy singing the main part is no longer with us. His memory lives on in his part and his singing. |
Soundtrack for Your Life Prompt: What were you listening to last year? Acapella. My love goes back to this group. The Nylons. I saw them in concert at the University of Guelph when I was in grade 11. Loved it. It was also the first concert I had attended outside of anything at Ontario Place - and I am dating myself here as Ontario Place is no more. I had to write a review of the concert for my grade 11 music class. Don't remember how that went, but the concert was so much fun... and I did go by myself. I often sing this song when I am working around the house. Soundtrack for Your Life Prompt: What were you listening to last year? Freedom - Mashup - Perfect Pitch 3 and the Voice Perform. I am a huge fan of Perfect Pitch. The first movie is my favourite, but the music is fabulous in all three of the movies. I love the acapella stuff - it's aca-amazing! I love how they work songs together making an even better version. This brings another dimension to the 'Perfect Pitch' franchise mixing songs and adding in other artists to make it fuller. Gotta love it. Enjoy! |
Soundtrack for Your Life Prompt: What were you listening to last year? Need You Now - Plumb Love this song. It reminds me that God is there for me, through the good, the bad and the ugly. I just need to remember to ask for His help. I need His strength to guide and sustain me through it all. These days I am feeling low and down on myself. I need this reminder that I am good enough and that I need Him. He's got my back and my heart. This was actually my Valentine's Day pick... I am just slow to get these posted this week. |
Soundtrack for Your Life Prompt: What were you listening to last year? These Boots Are Made For Walking - Nancy Sinatra Everyone needs a kick ass song. This one is a reminder for me to stick up for myself and not let others walk all over me. I will admit I am not a fan of the shortest dresses ever, but it was the 1960's and free love was a thing. Still, I prefer a little modesty. Styles come and go. I wouldn't be surprised if that design of dress was created by a man... but I digress. Enjoy the song. |

It reminds me that I can be more than this world says I can be... Fear can't hold me back. Love and Faith push me to be my best and to shine. My purpose is not to hide in the corner. It is to share my talents, my God given talents with the world to make things better than the Status Quo. |
Soundtrack of Your Life Prompt: What did I listen to last year? An now for something a little different... two songs... in a lip sync battle. Is this allowed? Not sure, but I had fun listening to this. I adore Anna Kendrick and she rocked J.Lo's Booty. John Krasinski is hilarious when he did Tina Turner's Proud Mary. Sometimes you just gotta have fun with music and this had me smiling, laughing and trying to sing along! Enjoy! |
Soundtrack for Your Life Prompt: What songs was I listening to last year? Holiday - Madonna Live Aid version. I put this in my Bimoji Classroom at the end of the school year. I wanted a fun song to send my students off for summer and this one was it. Being a child of the 80s, this was so great to see. Live Aid was big. 1985. Those crowds would never happen now. No traveling either. Not for me. The words are pretty basic. There is no story, like my other song choices to this point, but it is a fun song. Great to dance to and to celebrate the end of a good school year despite all the craziness of Covid. Enjoy. | Soundtrack of Your Life Prompt: What was I listening to last year? Cups (When I'm Gone) - Anna Kendrick I love Anna Kendrick. She is quirky and so much fun! She reminds me of my cousin Elizabeth - another small, ball of fire. I wonder how long it took them to do this video. How many takes? Everyone is so talented with the cups. There is no way I can manage doing that. Scene from the movie: which I absolutely love... and Perfect Pitch 2 and 3 were also good. The first was my favourite.
