| On this day in 1952, the first video recorder was demonstrated by John Mullin and Wayne Johnson in Beverly Hills, California. How would you explain YouTube to these gentlemen? Back in the 1920's the powers that be in Hollywood made contracts with Laurel and Hardy that covered inventions that were not yet invented. Laurel and Hardy and their heirs received nothing from DVD, CD, blue ray, etc. They could not conceive of such things. For any innovative invention, I would put that type of language in the contract because the shysters are loose and running amuck. I don't know that you can explain such a thing because you would first have to define computers and cellphones. You would be tripping in Star Trek country and that was considered whackydoodle back then, too. |
| Cancer shows no mercy and its timing sucks. My boss has pancreatic cancer and looks like the walking dead in those old holocaust pictures. Get your affairs in order when you think about it ... don't wait for a convenient time, because s*** happens. Right now I am knee deep in muck and life is coming at me like a mack truck at 80 mph. It's so scary to feel so helpless and unsure. He did not prepare at all for this and would not listen to me when I wanted to go things straightened out. such a shame. Now everything is dependent on someone who can barely hold his head up. Such a crazy useless waste of effort to be so secretive that no one can help you when you need it. |
| Well, the presidential election is today in the United States...one of the most polarizing and controversial elections in recent history. As an American citizen, how concerned are you about the outcome of this election? And for our global friends, what does this mean for you and your nation? The only concern I have is that the election machines are rigged. My precinct sticks with the paper ballots with pen and paper voting. So I think our precinct will report results correctly. The machines and punch out one can be rigged. Just a fact of life. A guy went before congress and told how it could be done. so pen and paper is the only one I will believe. The others can be rigged. Deal with the facts, Jack The consequences of course will be huge. If Hillary gets in, we can count on an ISIS type nominee for Supreme Court. If Hillary gets in, hopefully law enforcement will develop a backbone and try her for treason. |
| PROMPT: Saturday was National Cat Day ! Do you currently or have you ever owned a cat? Tell us a fun cat story. If you've never lived with a cat, tell us about another pet...and if you've never had a pet, what would be one of the first fun things you'd do with your pet if you ever did adopt one? Oh, the little girl kitty is a snot. I wrote a story about lessons from the cat. Let me see if I can find it. Yea, you! Here it is. If it ain't broke, it soon will be -- just give me two minutes. We are having our ceiling in the kitchen redone. When the workers went for lunch, Sophie went to town. She managed to pull all their plastic down and get stuck under there. Tom took pity on her and let her out and managed to get her cleaned up. When the workers got back, they looked at the mess and decided to clean it up rather than reinstall the plastic. They called it a day. Little stinker. If it’s in a bowl, it’s good for me and I can have it. Little Sophie loves anything made with almond milk. Tonight’s entre was chili mac and cheese. She has not learned sharing yet, but she has taught Tom to feed her stuff with almond milk in it. There are no obstacles, just launching pads to reach the goal. And you have to move quickly. For example, I was sitting on the couch in front of the window and I heard some pawsteps, the whish of air as she launched, a gentle thump on my chest before she landed safely on the back of the couch. We can all learn a lesson about seizing the opportunity. I mean seriously, a second either way could have been disastrous because I fidget. It’s a door. I must see what’s on the other side. But if you get stuck on the other side, make the best of it. Find something soft and go to sleep. You have to make the best of the situation you are in. But I love to help. Sophie’s solution is to eat the bad mail (aka doctor bills). She’s such a good helper. Show the Love. Even if she can’t she help, she will give you a hug just to show she cares. For example, she could not help Tom button his shirt, but she could put her little paw on his shoulder and purr in his ear. I can outwait you. Sophie has learned to snub and hug. If we feed her food she likes, we get a hug. If it’s the wrong food, she will starve first. And finally, dear friend, if you have to misbehave, as we all must do, do not do it in front anybody. Lesson: Whether it is to cover up your shredding misdeeds or shooed off a high surface, do not eat the pepper. It does not taste good. |
| I cannot believe how retarded some people can be. Trying to buy out greedy relatives from a real estate deal is maddening. I accept their offer and they pull back and say, no, that's not what we meant. So six weeks and two attorneys later, they now propose the offer i originally accepted. Shoot me in the head if that was worth it to them. The idiots. They can eat s***, those bottom feeders. There. I'm better now. I need to go wash my mouth out with soap. Bye. |
| PROMPT: Is there a choice or decision you've had to make in the last year that you wish you could reverse the outcome of? How should it have ended up? Well, yeah! The first one is that I would have a "Last Man Standing" clause for the house. I always thought that majority rules for tenancy in common home ownership. It's not like that. I wish I had played it different. And if I was not smart enough to do that, I would have got a firm offer to buy out the idiot heirs before applying for a loan. If there is any advice to give it would be: where finances are concerned, talk to the lawyer. It is cheaper to get it down on paper with the what's so than pay the pricetag for ignorance. Had I done it correctly, I would be poorer, but better off. Now, i have to deal with greedy people and it is not worth the money saved by pushing it off because i did not want to deal with it when I had the time. |
| I am so heavy hearted lately. I hear all the trite phrases about "let go and let God" "in due time" etc. It just is not fun waiting for an answer when you know the other side is playing games. This world is so full of greed that it squeezes out any level of compassion in a person's heart, and it grants them blinders so that they cannot see just how greedy they are. I wish God would move faster for me. |

| Prompt: Cryptomnesia is a certain type of a memory bias where a memory is mistaken for imagination. It is said that this happens to writers quite often. What do you think about this memory quirk? Have you ever written something that you didn’t know at first if it was a memory or a derivative of it or totally your imagination? I don't know if I have this or not. What I do have is "wish I would have's" that become my truth. And I also steal other people's truth and use it as my own. Who knows if it ever was truth or not. So either I don't understand the prompt or I think every writer is guilty of distorting things a little or a lot depending on their needs and personal issues. Now, I can't remember if I'm coming or going. I'll be back when I find myself or something like that. |
| Fun Fact Friday! On this day in 1962, the classic outer space cartoon The Jetsons premiered on ABC-TV; it was the first program on the network to be carried in color. Please answer for me the all-important question surrounding this legendary television show: Why, over fifty years later, do we still not have flying cars that we can fold up into briefcases? You want a two dimensional solution to a three dimensional problem? I blame big oil companies for discouraging anything that will cut into their profit margin. Even today they will bite the hand that feeds them. When pushing a pipeline through sacred burial grounds and into our aquifers and "under" lakes and rivers is more important than preserving the earth that will feed us, there is something seriously amuk in their thinking. So what you get your freaking oil. What about a leak that wipes out the drinking water, the aquatic life, the plant life, the food source. Big oil company executives won't care if they have to pay $20 for a loaf of bread, but you will. The government will have to tax somebody for hauling in food from places that are smarter, and where will they get the money to do that? Not from big oil companies. Not from Sharia Law Lobby groups. It will be from the people too cowered to voice their opinion and that is the rapidly shrinking middle class. You still want to try to solve a 3-D problem with a 2-D answer? I know you were trying to be funny, but there are so many problems taking attention away from the fun and innovative ideas. Like a soldier being shot at really does not care that there are no flying cars. A mother on welfare trying to feed her family does not care that their are no moving walkways. A Native American on the front lines trying to protect his/her people's water supply and land is not interested in why there is no robot in every home. People will always look at cartoons as an escape from their not-so-fun reality, rather than a doable thing. That's all. |
