A Journal to impart knowledge and facts
July 22, 2015

I'm going to start today to record on a daily basis whatever happens to strike my fancy. So, it is a very cool breezy day. I just posted 5 short book reviews to The Monthly Reading Challenge. I'm suppose to put away some winter wood today from the woodpile outside but I'm playing hookey from work to write so starting this blog will get done.

I'm having a daily fight with a flock of English Sparrows that are trying to take over my barn. They are making a terrible mess so they have to go. I have destroyed several nests so far they don't leave but they get out of the barn when I am around. I'm just starting the fight so I guess I don't know how far I have to go to discourage them.

I'm trying not to spread myself to thin on WDC because I find so many things that are interesting here and I am trying to work on a new story. I really enjoy sitting at my desk with a cup of tea and reading blogs on WDC.

September Days:

Reference: https://www.thespruce.com/reasons-to-celebrate-in-september-4178816

September is 30 days of celebration. Sometimes a cool down from August summer heat. Some of the holidays listed in the reference are: Eat an extra dessert Day / National Cheese Pizza Day / World Coconut Day / National double cheeseburger Day every day on the calendar has something listed. Most of the celebrations have to do with food.

There is a winter storm warning out on the web which says a particular part of the USA will get heavy snows and dangerous stormy weather this winter. It has been quite a few years since we experienced any kind of heavy snow. In any event we will be as ready for winter this year as any other year. Today's weather is definently cooler than August, at least today.

The goldenrod is in bloom. A beautiful golden yellow border between the mowed hay fields and the forests. I should bag it and sell it by the pound. It is an herb and grows wild here. It has a host of uses and can be made into a tea or oil or just eaten raw.

By the end of this month, we may be finished with lawn mowing for the year. Lawnmowing will be replaced with snow plowing if we really get a lot of snow. The last two years we did not plow because the snow was not heavy, and it would quickly melt.

I'm thinking of Christmas presents though, I like to get my shopping done early.

September for me is a cross over month. Good-bye to summer Hello to Autumn. Actually, the trees are already losing their leaves which isn't quite normal.

Have a good day, whatever September brings. One day at a time.

CAT DOOR

The cat was trying to enter through the door.

I could hear it scratching near the floor.

Magnets fastened the bottom of the plastic flap.

It could not break the magnet power with its' pat, pat, pat.

I took a screwdriver and popped the magnet off.

Now the cat is purring on my desk, soft, soft, soft.

Write about what the rainbow symbolizes to you.

signature dancing owl BCOF Insignia

When I was a young Child, my dad pointed out a rainbow and told me people believe there is a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. He also said people have been looking for the end of the rainbow forever, but no one ever found it. I always remember that day and what he said.

So, as years passed whenever I saw a rainbow I would try to see where it began and ended.

Then, when I went to college, I took a course about weather. By this time, I already knew about the spectrums of color in the rainbow and that things in the Bible often refer to colors in the sky. And we learned in the college class the times after a storm or a weather shift in the atmosphere what causes rainbows. No symbols in the class just scientific fact.

Nevertheless, I have a habit when a rainbow appears of trying to find where it begins and ends. Have you ever driven through one?

Rainbows and Santa Claus will go on being part of folk lore.

Prompt: A beautiful baby giraffe was born in a zoo in Tennessee. Whats the big deal? She has no spots! She is all brown. Write about this in your Blog entry today.

She is part of the species called Reticulated giraffes. There are 4 species of giraffes. Also, other spotless giraffes have been born in other places. Two siblings were born spotless in the 1900's in Japan.

It is probably of interest to people who follow zoo news and just are interested in environmental species throughout the world.
Also, the group of people out there, who are interested in environmental biology is quite large. It is a news item that brings a certain calm to the other more alarming news that can be in any news media. It reminds us that an exact replica of anything cannot necessarily be counted on in earthly biology.

Just my thoughts.

Prompt: If you were a household furnishing, what would you be and why?

BCOF Insignia signature dancing owl

I thought of all kinds of furnishings with a soul. I imagined the sofa, rugs, washing machines and other furniture dancing around. My muse was a little out of control. Something like Walt Disney's musical popped into my mind. *Laugh*

I think I would be a Television. Because I could bring in the news, music, and entertainments.

I just bought a music book with arpeggios, scales and other types of musical mind twister note playing for guitarists. The week before that I bought a usb tuner for my guitar. So, I spent about 45 dollars for guitar playing. I can go for months or years without spending much on me. Then I get a bug about needing something and just do it no matter the consequences. My parrots sing along when I play. Have you ever heard a parrot sing? awk!

I am using a book to practice that I bought in the 1980's so this isn't a real spending problem. And I paid the taxes for the year, so I get to live here another year quilt free. Merry Christmas in July. Only it's August now. and the summer is flying by too fast.

Now I have to scramble to renew my WDC in August. Life is one money scramble after another.

Fairy playing a flute

A COMPARISON OF ANDRE' TO CEASAR AUGUSTUS

I went to Wikipedia the free encyclopedia to get some historical information about Ceasar Augustus.

A. Caesar Augustus had many names: Galius Octavius, was his childhood name. He inherited the name Caesar from his uncle Julius Caesar who adopted him.
A. I only know Andre' by one name. Although some people may use other names for him depending on their state of mind and Andre's actions.

B. Caesar Augustus was emperor of the Roman Empire.
B. Andre' owns a bar.

C. Caesar Augustus wanted to be known as frugal and modest. He insisted on being called citizen as his title. According to what I read he intended the empire to be run like a republic. With lots of personal freedom for the people. The people were always at odds with the wealthy upper class, who ran the senate. Sounds kind of familiar somehow.
C. I really cannot see the words Frugal and modest as applying to Andre'. He is quite outspoken especially when he is doing that monkey screech. EEEEEEEEEE!

D. Caesar Augustus has political acumen, patience and tact when dealing with people.
D. Andre' of course is quite outspoken. EEEEEEEEEEEEEE!

E. Caesar Augustus built a solid military structure and was intent to give out land and possessions to the members of the military.
E. I have to say Andre' is known for giving out gifts for bar prompt entries. Also, may be building his own group of militants behind the scenes of the bar?

F. Caesar Augustus was interested in government by one man.
F. Andre' may have people helping to run the bar nevertheless, it is run by one monkey. Behind the scenes he has accumulated power over all bars run by monkeys.

G. Caesar Agustus wrote poetry.
G. Andre' wrote the bar menu. Primarily contains Banana Daiquiri.

H. Caesar Augustus wore a simple white toga instead of imperial robes or head gear such as crowns.
H. Andre' is a monkey does he wear clothing?

I. The city of Rome even under Caesar Augustus' reign was considered no place to expect law abiding conduct.
I. A bar run by a rouge monkey could be considered the same. It is a bar after all. A lot of different characters hang out at bars. In spite of rules and regulations most cities and bars can have a tumultuous day or two. i CITE ME AS PROOF.

J. Caesar Augustus had a police force in the city of Rome. Force was used sparingly within the city to keep the population on the straight and narrow.
J. Andre' just hopes we all obey the rules. Maybe he has his own police force. Who knows?

K. Augustus as a young boy wanted to go to Africa with uncle Ceasar. Mom said no way. So, he did not go at first; then stowed away on a ship and traveled the many miles alone to reach the scene of the battle. Uncle Ceasar was impressed and let him ride with him throughout the remainder of the campaign. It shows Agustus as an innovative kid without the normal fear of a child. Also, shows him as a little disobedient monster child who determines to get his way.
K. Depending on how much Banana Daquiri Andre' consumes he can be a lot like Caesar Augustus at times.

THE END

Prompt: perfection, welcome, emergency, ocean, energy, music and unveiling

Online unveiling a musical presentation on August 1 at 10 a.m. YouTube. Watching Reinhardt Buhr create music in videos. His music has some welcome sound-producing energy for dancing, meditating, or spiritual awakening.

Buhr facts include he Was born in 1988, comes from Johannesburg, South Africa, and has cross citizenships with Africa and America.

Burh is also multi musical talented with many different instruments. In one video on YouTube the ocean makes a Perfect background to the sounds he creates as the camera roles out his performance.

It does not seem to have been an emergency to reveal his talent as he has been around for a bit building his performance to perfection. One comment online says he is underrated as a musician. Perhaps after August 1 the unveiling of his talent will bring him further into the limelight of musical abilities.

It's new age music. A mixed creation of technology and human musical talent.

Prompt: Christmas in July. Do you do anything that is Christmas related in July?

BCOF Insignia signature dancing owl

When Christmas in July comes around, I always think of starting the gift buying for the real season of Christmas. Whenever I can start shopping for the season early, I'm really happy. I always thought that is why manufacturers started Christmas in July. To try to cut down on the last-minute rush of shoppers at the weather inhibiting shopping time of the year.
