For my blog "Prompt: How should a Christian handle disappointment?"

I do not know that there is a right or wrong way to handle disappointment. I think the question basically refers to whether it is permissible for a believer to be angry with God? The answer is yes. God permits His children to be angry with Him. David was often angry as is expressed in the Psalms. Read Psalm 22 and tell me David is not disappointed!

I think of Jeremiah. Nobody was as misunderstood as Jeremiah.

For my blog "Prompt: Write about any scripture pertaining to holiness."

I am running quite late today. I had an in office surgical procedure done on my great toe today. Now I have to rest and try to stay off of it. (Yeah, right.)

Anyway, the first scripture that came to mind when I read this prompt was Matthew 5:46 which discusses being mature in Christ. I was taught the KJV translation of this verse and told I had to be perfect or I was doomed for hell. I learned in time that the verse refers to being mature, not sinless. We should strive to be like Christ in maturity and holiness.

about racism.

What do you think?"

I think racism is going to continue to be a problem as long as we perpetuate it by talking about it and building walls that highlight one race or another.

For my blog Prompt: "Psalms 20:6-7
6 Now know I that the Lord saveth his anointed; he will hear him from his holy heaven with the saving strength of his right hand.
7 Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of the Lord our God.

What does this mean to you?"

God thrives on weakness. He usually does not move until we have given up all hope. I think He lets us die because in death we are at our very weakest. When we die He will resurrect us to judgment. David had given up. He was surrounded by his enemies and defeated essentially. Yet from the defeat God brought him victory. I'd have to do the research to know for sure but I am guessing this refers to Saul hunting David. Saul had David surrounded. In fact, Saul went into the very cave David was hiding in. Saul needed to poop and did so in David's presence. David could have killed Saul and became king. Instead he respected Saul as God's anointed and only cut off the tail of Saul's robe. He then waited for Saul to leave and when Saul was a ways off he called to Saul, showing him the piece of material and saying essentially "I could have killed you instead. Now leave me alone." 1 Sam. 24

David was in a jam and God pulled him out.

about the end of time. How do you believe the world will end?

I believe the world will end when God decides it is to end. However, I believe man will be the weapon used. God has always used man to punish man. Even in Noah's era God used Noah in destroying the world. I believe God will lead man to all out nuclear war, which will not only destroy man but eliminate all life.

For my blog "Prompt: Psalms 19:14 'Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O Lord, my strength, and my redeemer.'

Other verses in the Bible state that what comes out of our mouth comes from our heart. Consider today what is coming from your mouth and what it reveals about the condition of your heart with God. Write about this."

Jesus tells us in Matthew 12:34 that man speaks from the overflow of the heart. I do not believe it is a coincidence that the scripture about the overflow of the heart is located in Matthew 12:34 Matthew 1-2-3-4. Jesus wanted it to be memorable and guided Matthew to position it here. The numbers were not added until centuries later by St. Jerome but Jesus knew they would be added. Placing this particular scripture here made it easy to remember. Mathew 1,2,3,4.

Jesus knows that man often speaks impulsively. We do not gage our words but rather "speak what is on our minds". Our minds are our hearts. They are the center of our personality or our spirit. If our spirits are controlled by wickedness then wickedness will come from our spirit or heart. The words we say will be wicked. If our hearts (spirits) are regenerated by the second birth and guided by the Holy Spirit our words will be nurturing and loving. We will guard our mouths. James tells us that the tongue is a wildfire, James 3:6. It sets off all kinds of forest fires! Words spoken cannot be taken back. Entire relationships have been destroyed by words spoken in anger. We must guard our mouths and keep the tongue under control. St. Francis prayed "Lord, let me preach every day...using words if necessary."

People believe our actions faster than our words. Scientists say that as much as 90% of our communication is done through our actions. I am currently teaching a class on active listening. Body language is part of that. I recently asked the class which they believed most: actions or words? The result was unanimous. They believe a person's actions ten times faster than words. From the heart we speak.

about lords and masters. What do you think?"

I don't know about others for I am not the judge thank God. For me personally, there is only one who can claim the title of Lord and Master and that is Jesus Christ. I mean there are all sorts of gods as even the Bible admits. Those gods are stone, wood, or other carvings of man and have no power. I worship and serve the living God. He has proven Himself by becoming human, dying, and raising from the dead.

For my blog "Prompt: Write about your favorite book of the Bible."

I never really thought of a favorite book but I suppose it would be James. James tells us how to live the Christian life. He gives us the nuts and bolts of doing so. He gives us examples of want to bes and of believers. He doesn't mince words. This little book is powerpacked.

This prompt is too easy. Lol. One of my favorite scriptures is Philippians 4:13 "I can do all things through Christ, who gives me strength."

What most of us don't realize is that strength comes by faith. If we trust God He always makes a way where there seems to be no way. The only thing final in life is eternity and it never ends.

Image #2249882 over display limit. -?- "Prompt: There are several ways to incorporate God's word into your daily routine. What are your favorite ways to do this?"

One of my favorite ways of doing this is actually living God's word. Yes. I fall drastically short of the mark. I have issues with sin in my life that I just can't seem to shake. I have repented repeatedly and still find myself drawn to it like a moth to a flame. I have told God that He has to intervene. No amount of human willpower will stop it. Until God acts I am stuck with the sin. It is a hidden sin but there is nothing hidden that will not be revealed. Most of the time I am okay. I live a godly life. Living God's word to me means loving on and serving others. I make $14,500.00 per year. Of that I give way $6,000.00 per year. I see a need and I meet it. No obligation. God keeps money in my pocket. I know money is not the answer, but I spend that money on others. It's charity. Charity is love. Love is the word of God.

Another way I practice incorporating God's word into my daily life is by being a seminary student. I am now in my third year of graduate school so for all intents and purposes I have my Master of Divinity degree. I still have courses to take to meet school requirements, but by law you are considered to have completed a master's degree if you have two years of it behind you. Mine is a 3 year program and I am in my third year. Employers consider me as having my M.Div. at this point. However, I am still in seminary so I incorporate God's word every day.

I also incoporate God's word by teaching it. I had lost my muse for a while there with the exception of academic papers. There was no spark for anything else. Well, my muse is back and I am working on a Bible Study series called Parables and Discourses of Jesus. It will hopefully be professionally published and distributed. I only have two lessons done thus far and had a few tests done with them to see how well received they were. The comments have all been positive. The lessons discuss a parable and give a background of it. Then the student has to answer questions about the parable using God's word as a source. Once I finish the series I am going to publish them through a major distributor. There will be ten lessons in Parables and Discourses. Lesson One is the Parable of the Wicked Judge. Lesson Two is the Parable of the Unforgiving Servant. Lesson Three will be the Parable of the King's Dinner. Lesson Four will be the Parable of the Four Soils. Lesson Five will be the Parable of the Wheat and the Tares. Lesson Six will be the Parable of the Pearl of Great Worth. Lesson Seven will be the Parable of the Lost Sheep. Lesson Eight will be the Parable of the Talents. Lesson Nine will be the Parable of the Pharisee and the Sinner. Finally, Lesson Ten will be the Parable of the Good Samaritan. As a matter of fact I am going to work on them now.

I am also considering doing a series on Psalms. The Psalms series will look at the metaphor used in the psalms and the lessons taught by those metaphors. There will be some culture and a great deal of hermeneutics (interpretation).

What do you think of this statement?"

I think the statement is spot on. I lived in the country all of my childhood. Flies were the worst. They never came one at a time. There would be thousands of them. So the author is right. Cause and effect are not ordained.

I also wanted to let you know that my book Teatime is now available on Amazon. Here is the link to order softcovers, hardbacks, and e-books. https://www.amazon.com/Teatime-Chris-Breva/dp/1954371861 .

I recommend the hardback edition. There will not be a lot of them sold and hard covers are destined to become collector's items.

I think faith is having an attitude of that says "Wherever Jesus leads me I will go. If he leads me up a hill and onto the mountaintops I will go. If He leads me into the valley I will also go. Trust is the key and this trust is expressed in willingness. I am willing to go wherever the Master leads me.
