Writings in the Sand

Thoughts destined to be washed away by the tides of life.

I've been studying my cover photo for a while now, and it seems to me that it is more than just a photo of what is there that can be seen, more than just three white rocks stacked on a beach. It contains an important question about the future, about what happens long after the photographer has gone. What will happen to our pile of stones when the tide comes in? Will it topple or has the architect built this structure at a safe distance?

I don't know what will happen to these words that I stack here on the sand. They may prove safely distant, or they may be swallowed up by a rush of self-doubt. They may be here for a season. They may lose their balance and be scattered by the shoreline, or be hidden away under shifting sands. Perhaps someday, the tides of life will reclaim them.

Or maybe that's just a bunch of poetic, romantic nonsense. After all, this is just a blog.

Venting releases those inner gases... just saying. 🌋

There are vloggers who make money off of chit-chat and recipes. It's helpful to be a good storyteller. I think of Julia Child and a present-day vlogger who does her makeup while telling gruesome or mysterious tales.

I heartily agree! The carton ought always to be balanced when one has taken out an egg or two or three. I fear for the remaining eggs if the are all clustered at the far end or the near end. Unbalanced egg cartons feel, well, unbalanced and at risk.

Thank you for the lovely tip about pouring salt on the dropped egg white. I have not heard this before. I do hope I will not use the tip, however.

I think part of the comeback is going to be establishing a new routine that works better with the new situations. As for Covid, I feel blessed.

Life is made up of seasons and sometimes they change unexpectedly. But, they will change again. Change is the only thing that is constant in life. There's lots of free content on YouTube, even free movies. It's okay to practice escapism now and again.

I resemble your previous entry... and this one.

I have a big decision (for me) to make before the weekend. I feel incapable of even doing that.

I was afraid of car crashes until I ended up in the hospital (1988) after my car was rear-ended and totalled. Afterwards? Fear was gone.

I'm now going to watch a Thai TV series that will distract me from what needs to be done. *sigh*
