I'm just old enough (in my 40s) that I'm scared to take 10 years off my life. If I knew I was guaranteed to live to 100, then yeah, I would go forward and take the money. But what if I'm not? Yeah, I could set my kids up for their lifetimes and their grandchildren too, but I'd miss out on their lives... Erk. It's such a tough question. Like you, I didn't have the money to invest in Amazon, Google or Bitcoin. It's a tough question. Thanks so much for playing along!
I would go with b. First of all, I don't have that much knowledge so going back to 10 years old wouldn't be that good. Also, $50 million sounds like a sweet deal! I would rather go into the future than in the past anyways. I like my life right now, though, so if I could choose, I would pick neither.
I remember when we ordered our couch. Now this was at least back in 2003, but I don't think things have changed much. It was a custom order, from a place called 'Sofa Express'. Yeah, right. It'll be done in a month. Check on it. Oh, well, it'll be done in a few more weeks. Check on it again. Well. seems it's taking longer than expected.
So we finally got the couch from 'Sofa Took-Forever' about 2 months before we had to sell our house and put everything into storage. We then went on an RV trip for several years. We didn't see that couch again for 4 years. But we still have it.
