One of these days....maybe...I'll finish my Fairrin story and publish it. And possibly publish my couple children's stories I made up for my son...why do publication companies have to cost so much mone!!!!*Sob*
You are looking at the wrong publication companies. If they charge you, they are not legit. Steer well clear of them.
Amazon kindle direct publishing is a print on demand company I use. You have to do all the setup yourself including figuring out your cover(they have templates and an app to help with that.) All they charge is a per copy fee for what you order and they put your book on sale on amazon for you. I have published all 16 of my books through them, they have paperback, ebook, and now hardback options. I mean they have their downside It is the evil Amazon corporation after all but if you are worried about cost it is a good option.

Attempting to get the umph up to actually get to writing can be a trial at times. Depression makes life difficult at best, horrific often, and nominally dull at worst.
