Hey I saw you like sci-fi/fantasy and thought I'd steer you toward "Contest Central Station" . There are a number of sci-fi/fantasy contests you may like to try and all contests are listed by genre and type on this page.

Contests are a great place to start on this site. They get your name noticed, your work read, and can even give you awards. Give them a try!

Oh yep! Thanks for the link Angels in my Ear ! I think I'm definitely going to try out one or two of the contests. I have just realized that I write better when I'm under a deadline! *BigSmile*
That's why I like contests too. It helps push on when it isn't working. Plus, having a specific purpose for your piece, and a guarantee that someone will read it, makes it more motivational to me. Getting an award for it is just a side benefit. Many of my best pieces were written for contests. And my winning pieces have opened a lot of doors for me.

My biggest gripe is that I cannot access WDC at office! They have blocked it under Social Networking. I was like what?? But otherwise, spending most of my online time here. I'm starting to love being here *Cool*
And by the way, sticking to a word count and that too as small as 300 is a pain for sure! But I cut down entire paragraphs to bring it to a acceptable 294 from 468!!

And I saw contests for stories under 100 words! Really??
Finally got a story out! For the flash fiction contest. I know it's not that great but I had to get something out! Realized I was just wasting too much time thinking of good storylines!

First milestone crossed...:)
