My doctor insisted that I see a nutritionist. It's difficult to take advice from a woman who, with a straight face, will stand there, look me in the eye and insist that gravy is not a food group.

From a nutritional standpoint, you need certain fats in your diet. Gravy is a fat. Just don't drown everything you eat with it. Moderation my friend, moderation.

Another snow storm settling in for the night. We are starting to believe that spring will never come. Heavenly Father, give me the grace to accept what I can not change. Or, more simply, as my great uncle Morty used to say: "Don't sweat the petty stuff and, of course, don't pet the sweaty stuff."

It is a brisk minus six degrees this morning in northern Illinois. I shouldn't complain though. That's warmer than last week when it was negative twelve degrees with a wind chill factor of minus twenty-seven. My dad used to refer to that as "Colder than a mother-in-law's kiss!"

I waited patiently for inspiration to come to me. When it refused, I went to the place where it slept, pulled back the covers, grabbed it by the scruff of the neck and dragged it, kicking and screaming, to my keyboard. It hates when I do that! *Laugh*
