I have come to hate the often used lead "blah, blah, means different things to different people," and its many variations that don't vary enough.

Does it bother anyone else or am I just being cranky?

I guess some people use it in place of yackity yak etc. Doesn't bother me as much as people who say 'basically' at least once a sentence. doremi

I agree. It makes me think that the person just doesn't want to go to the trouble of coming up with something on their own.

When I get a review from a new (to me) reviewer, I pop over to their port for a peek. I like to know them a little and what they've written. I'm always a tad disappointed when I get a "This member has not yet submitted a bio " message.

Anyone else feel the same?

I think some people are just more private than others. Or possibly less active members than we are. I don't even have time to pop over to see who's reviewing me, so it's good that you do!

I love auto spell check. I couldn't write without it. Sometimes my spelling is so bad, I can't even look up the word.

But, it's not perfect. It doesn't know all the words that I think I know. That's when I use "The Urban Dictionary."

What's your favorite spell pal?

The trouble with spell check is that, if my misspell is a real word, it doesn't catch it. What we need is a computer capability that knows what you meant to say and considers the context. On the other, hand I guess a machine that smart wold be scary. This computer contraption has me buffaloed as it is and it knows it.

You're right -- my MS Word auto-corrects so well that I start to believe I can actually type, then whenever I write emails I'm horrified when I proof-read.

Thank goodness for spell check.

Check out "Tiny Spell". It's a great little program. But the dad gum thing doesn't recognize when I spell their and mean there.

After submitting a contest entry that requires the prompt words in bold, I like to edit the item after the contest and un-bold. If not, it seems like I'm shouting at my reader and it jolts the flow.

Anyone else feel the same?
