Styx are a band that are really an acquired taste. Most critics do not like them, but they have a fervent support base. 'Mr Roboto' was one of their worst singles. I was so worried yo0u were going to have that up here. 'Babe' I can live with.
Yes it does! roflol !!

I shared this in a post in "Smile! (Groan?) You Know You Love These! about a month ago. To say I love this video would be a gross understatement. I don't just listen to it, I watch it. I just hope I don't get tired of it anytime soon.

s - Thanks for posting these videos. After watching them I couldn't help but think of this song (not a compilation, but made me want to dance too):

I posted a reply in another Newsfeed entry about being in the Northwest area of LA in 2 weeks. Well, they have changed the training site location, and I will be back in downtown LA, working with LAPD again. I'm still open to meeting anyone for a cuppa or whatever. Just let me know. I will not have a car, I will use Uber to/from LAX and work.

LinnAnn -book writer - my mother use to love orange peel candy. She passed on years ago.
That is so super sweet of you, LinnAnn -book writer! THANK YOU!!! I hate to ask you to wait. You can go ahead and make some. But don't send any to me. I don't know if they'd let it in the country since it's homemade anyway. *Frown* But when I get back, if you decide to make some more, I'd love to try some! Thank you for thinking of me!!!
Schnujo is Late to Lannister - you bet. Just let me know!

If you don't remember this man in movies, you should. He portrays a wide variety of characters, and portrays them well. I have loved seeing him in several roles.

The Green Mile: Wild Bill Wharton

Cowboys And Aliens: Doc

The Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy: Zaphod Beeblebrox

Galaxy Quest: Guy Fleegman

Iron Man2: Justin Hammer

Who is this versatile actor? Sam Rockwell

Another actor you might be aware of is Michael Pena. Both are very versatile, and if you notice them, they will leave a remembrance in your memory.

I liked Rockwell in Moon - now there was a sci-fi movie with a touch of originality - and he was good in the TV series Fosse/Verdon a few years back. Like all good character actors, he avoids getting typecast.
I liked Sam Rockwell in Galaxy Quest. That was a fun character. *Smile*
Yes, it was cool that Sam's character finally got a name at the end of the movie. Hopefully, that offset the whole "wearing a red shirt" occupational hazard thing. I first remember seeing Michael Peña in Shooter, and also liked him in World Trade Center.

Falco is an unsung hero of what we now call Eurodance. He really put it onto the mainstream stage.
I know almost nothing about the singing Falco, although "Rock Me Amadeus" is certainly familiar from ages past via the American Forces Radio & TV Service in Germany. While I recognized his name right away, two other Falcos came to mind first: Shane Falco, played by Keanu Reeves in The Replacements and Edie Falco, who portayed Carmela Soprano on The Sopranos.

Gregorian chants set to a dance beat... I bought the Sadeness (pt 1) single, and then the album. So different and so good.

That version of ASIB surprised me by how good it was. I have seen all but one of the versions, and that is definitely number one or two to me.

*Music1* It seems like I'd heard this song forever, but never knew the title. I heard it one evening a few years ago but, as usual, I missed the intro with the title. When I got home, I called the station and asked for the name of the song they'd recently played that featured excellent guitar and saxophone solos. The guy had no problem ID'ing the song for me. *BigSmile*

I apologize for not posting in "Smile! (Groan?) You Know You Love These! last night. I was in transit from Dover NH to Bloomington Illinois. I didn't get home until 2:30 this morning and will leave tomorrow at 5 am for St. Johns Newfoundland. Trying to get things done that need completing. Y'know, unpacking last week's clothes, repacking clothes for next week, getting wash done, not to mention work stuff that has to be completed. And of course, naps. A lot of napping today.

I know most, if not all off you never have had the chance to tour a submarine, many of you could care less. Today though, take a moment to remember the USS Thresher SSN 593, lost 61 years ago today, with 129 men perishing with it. Because of that loss, many changes were made to submarine design that made the boats safer for future generations. RIP Shipmates.

Did you just give us your SSN?!
Sum1
Massive Friendly Derg - Nope, that's the hull number of the Thresher. SSN 593. I served on the USSW Theodore Roosvevelt SSBN 600, USS Sargo SSN 583, USS Alabama SSBN 731, and USS Nevada SSBN 733. So not my personal SSN at all.
Sum1 - I was attempting a joke...
