Okay, I'm stumped. In my novel, Little Atlantis at the mid point crisis, I have my lead female character jump into her powers (reads thoughts, emotions, and can see what people around her see) the powers are debilitating.
I have done such a good job making these powers overwhelming, I'm now having a hard time coming up with a believable way pass them.
Any ideas...anyone?
What kind of novel is it? If it's a dark, gritty affair, I would suggest drug use to dull them. If it's not, or if it's YA, maybe some kind of magical solution? Or the character could meet someone else with the same power who helps her deal. :)

I am preparing to go to a family reunion in Florida. This is going to be a hard trip because it will be the first reunion after losing two of the family leaders. I am looking forward to seeing family...but dreading the emotions everyone will stir up about the departed members.

Sometimes the expectation is far worse than the reality. Sorry for your loss, but hopefully you will find comfort in the stories people tell at the memorials. Often they make you smile and this, in turn, helps your own grief. Good luck.
i can agree!i hardly c my relativs but wen i make the trip to its mor emotionally exhaustin.

I would like to share my thoughts. When I first joined wdc, I quickly dived into reading, giving reviews without knowledge. Then I posted some of my own work and received reviews...and saw how a review should look.
Then I took the time to read writing101 and other information on this site. My advice to all beginners of this site, read the important how to, letters first. Wish I had.
Never too late to learn, right?

Even if you read them, it still takes a while to settled in.

Babysitting this week, but carrying my trusted notebook to jot trains of thought and ideas, to write later.
Did spring cleaning and accidently snapped my jump drive in two pieces. 10 years of writing on that jump drive. Two full length novels to edit, countless story ideas, dozens of short stories, poems and favorite quotes I was collecting. all lost...Goal pull all old versions of lost items off old computer. maybe something can still be salvaged from this mess.

omg! I would be crying! I always worry about losing everything I have written. That is a big one on my to do list. Get a memory card and transfer items.
Och! I am a firm believer in redundancies. I have writing documents saved in 4 places (desktop, laptop, Cloud storage, and flash drive).
