Wow! This story sounds like a combination of several of mine! I find subjects like this of great interest and very fun to write about.
I think you did a good job expressing Carrie's emotions regarding her pregnancy. As a reader we could relate (or at least imagine) being hefty and ungainly.
It was a bit more difficult to side with Rudy though. The readers were far more involved with Carrie and therefore the betrayal is not as poignant in relation to Rudy - but I am not sure if you wanted us to sympathize with him either! So ending with him crying in the waiting room/lobby isn't quite the ending I would have liked to have seen.
But a wonderful story and one that kept me riveted!!
