trained it on my friend. Did you mean turned it on my friend?

Aside from those little mistakes I really liked this especially since we are currently living in a time that this could actually happen. I also liked the humor between the two little old ladies and I liked how they spoke their mind. I'm 63 and it makes me feel good to read something without a lot of romance in it. Keep writing, you have talent!

What made me choose your item: The title because when I think of nature I have to think of the Beach! When I first saw the ocean in 1972 on my senior trip to the Bahamas from Detroit....I was in love not with anyone but nature.



How it made me feel: Exactly as if I was standing on the beach thinking of the words you wrote and what I felt in my soul.


Improvements: None, I found it very heart warming.

Overall Impression i liked it very much I just needed it to flow a little better. I think some small change in the last 4 stanzas would help. Just a personal opinion.

What made me drawn to review this piece: I love the title although in the Bible it says something like Crying endurth but joy cometh in the morning. I know it’s misspelled but I am sleepy and too tired to get a dictionary and for some reason my spell check isn’t taking it at all. Have you read the old book by I think Betty Smith named Joy in the Morning? It is so good but old.




How it made me feel: It gave me hope because I know God is in charge and no matter what as long as I know He is charge I know I can make it but sometimes it seems so bleak. I get overwhelm sometimes and don’t think I can make it. Oh, Well...One day at a time sweet Jesus.




Did it connect to the human experience? Yes and you should continue to write. I miss those positive books with had great poetry in them. Bless you.

What made me drawn to review this piece: The picture and the title brought my imagination soaring.




How it made me feel: Since I am depressed anyway this poem really hits my heart. It’s hard when you are so unsure of where our country is headed. This is one poem that is for the books and it speaks volumes. Perhaps you have a bit of Egar Allen Poe’s blood running through your veins.




Did it connect to the human experience? Yes because one day we will be ashes or dirt. Simple. Seize the day!

What made me drawn to review this piece: When you, too are obsessed with what comes out of the ground when you plant a seed you can’t miss an essay on gardening. The only mistake I saw was simple instead of the I think you meant to say they in the 3rd paragraph. I loved this, so simple yet with your words the writing came to life. This is what I like to see something as simple as poo can go a long way.




How it made me feel: Happy! I really think we need this kind of writing this world which sometimes seems it is turning inside out!




Did it connect to the human experience? Yes, you never know what you get when you plant little poo. LOL

What made me drawn to review this piece: Because I wondered so much how we keep secrets from each other. Although high school wasn’t that bad the biggest crique I received was of all places, church. One time I came out to spend the day with my friend and the one I was riding with wanted to spend some time talking with my friend. He wasn’t suppose to tell a thing but he was actually doing this adult a big favor because her words went to all the youth in my class. The first thing was that I was called was a person with an ethic nose. I cried so hard in the bathroom. I don’t remember the other wicked thing which were said to me. We lived in the slums of Detroit, MI and most of my time was spent on trying to spent reading. Certainly, I wasn’t going with Chistians. I wonder now if they ever stop to realize how cruel to those words were to a 13 year old?




How it made me feel: Your words made me remember how hard bullying was. I’m glad I don’t have to try and be part of the in crowd anymore. The funny thing about it all is that I became a beauty in my own right and chose different friends. I begain reading, looking at pictures for prom, and became someone who loved poetry; I couldn’t get enough of authors of that era or the music. While all they were concerned with was beauty I worked on my brains!




Did it connect to the human experience? Yes, so much so for every generation. I think you should concern yourself with trying to get this out to magazines and newspapers. You did a wonderful job!

What made me drawn to review this piece: I grew up in Detroit in the sixties and my friend, Kathleen was exposed to art because her Father was an art dealer. Walking into her house was like walking into a museum because her Mom was white French and her Dad a knowledgeable black man. In addition to the art the house was cluttered which I must love because mine is the same way. I felt like I was in the Munster’s or Adam’s Family Home.




How it made me feel: Great! It covered a lot of ideas and knowledge in a short amount of space. I would have given it a higher review if it didn’t contain so many pronouns. She, her, it.... another thing is using unnessary words as this: She even visits art museums. You could have left out even. I do this so much in my work that I really have to proof again and again.




Did it connect to the human experience? Yes and she would make a great character for a book!

What made me drawn to review this piece: Second one I’ve read of this young man’s and it is wonderful. The only problem I see is some breaking up in the first paragraph with some ending of sentences. You need to start a great long short story on this piece of work. Great job!

What made me drawn to review this piece: I was hooked when I saw Moon. You see Moon and I have a special relationship. Not only is the Moon my muse but something I photograph regularly. I’ll send you a copy of one of my latest pictures. The moon almost looks like it’s pink.




How it made me feel: Like the little girl. I used to talk to the moon and when my children were young I loved the book Good night Moon. I felt like that little girl once again. What a great job plus I liked the rhyming.




Did it connect to the human experience? Of course, what youngster doesn’t look up at the sky and talk?

What made me drawn to review this piece: We have so many storms in the south I was curious as to what this was about.




How it made me feel: Very deep and dark. I call it hell when the wind is just lashing havoc everywhere it goes like the devil incarnate. The thing you did with your poem is made it scary but also written elegant. I could feel what you felt and I think you have captured what author’s live to do in their lifetime---{c:hot pink} Hear your voice through your wiring.

What made me drawn to review this piece: At first I thought the life of Silver might be about a little dog because my Aunt had a puddle named Silver. I was surprised and this is so good and when I read some more I understood how much silver means in the color wheel and I love silver. The color is so beautiful because it is so shiny and I make a great use out of it....I love silver permanent markers then I buy a burgundy notebook or black and white words all over it.




How it made me feel: Great! This kind of poetry is so powerful and you are not concerned with anything else but words and putting them together. I felt a Deju Vu, have I relived this before?




Did it connect to the human experience? Yes, everyone loves color and words unless you aren’t on the earth to know. I want to learn everything while I am here.

What a great idea for a poetry contest! What do I think is so great? Because the poetry that I write comes out to fast to worry about Iambic Pentameter stuff and to look up words that rhyme. I think that would take away the flow of my poems and I have wrote them since I was a little girl. I am a big girl now and 60 years young.

*Why did I pick this to review? Because it was about the Bible and I wanted to see what an Acrostic poem was...I looked it up on Bing and I am very impressed. I may try it myself.



* Grammar and suggestions for a better read: I saw it done perfectly exactly the way the definition of the poem read.



*Did it connect with the human experience? Yes, those that are spiritual, like me crave items like this which confirm my faith. I also read other faiths like the Tao and Buddha. Who knows where Christ traveled between the years of 13 and 33!

What made me drawn to review this piece: A laugh...what kind of new wrinkle cream does this writing.com member have on hand?




How it made me feel: It made me feel 60 years young because doesn’t it seem like once you hit 60 you kind of go through a beautiful awakening....I love it! Your bubble bath proved that and I love the way I felt you becoming a child and reminiscing of days gone by. You did a wonderful job and this was a pleasure to read. What made me drawn to review this piece: The title because I believe God knows and sees all. I have had a death recently in the family and he was not saved but he became saved when he entered the ambulance and cried out to God. I heard the pastor take his message from Matt. where it tells us the first shall be last and the last shall be first. Only in God’s kingdom would this the place. I thank you so much for sharing this story with others. I could just see the arua around your face as you wrote this story. I hope that it is not true but if it is and you lost a son you will see him again. I’ve lost a son to drugs but I continue to pray and know he can make it better.




How it made me feel: Wonderful.....such a sense of peace when I read another believer’s work.

These are beautiful and I think we should honor our veteran’s all the time not just on holidays. You know they saluted my Father n Law in the casket but I can’t ever remember them doing that while he was alive. That’s what I wrote upon for the 4th of July. We have to remember to honor them day and night, any day, in any way.

What made me drawn to review this piece: Because at one time I wondered if God could really send someone He loved to hell. As I grew up as it says in Timothy I didn’t think like a child when I saw all the horrible people in this world. You couldn’t make me believe that there is not a special place in hell for those who reek havoc on people who do wrong.




How it made me feel: Validation that there is a hell. I’m glad you didn’t tear the Bible apart trying to prove a point of hell not existing. When I read the other books by like Tai, Buddha, and stuff I don’t see where they would see any differently when it comes to someone sinning. This doesn’t have anything to do with the review but you need to read this excellent book “When Bubba Meets Buddha” you will laugh until you pee on yourself.




Did it connect to the human experience? Yes because many of us have a religious background and want to know more or at least debate opinions.

What made me drawn to review this piece: Because I love old cemetery’s. I’ve always went with camera in hand to take pictures of what was said on them and even have a scrapbook related to the topic. Have got orbs in the pictures too.
This was written so well. I loved it and it kept my mind on the story. That’s a hard thing to do with someone 60 years old with ADHD. LOL. I loved the pictures also.




How it made me feel: It made me feel right there with everyone in the group. I felt all the senses although I could use some more in the smelling. You know how old cementery’s have some kind of smell from a tree. I always think of a cemetery when I smell a cedar tree.

What made me drawn to review this piece: I was looking on Country Mom’s site to notice the vets. You are so important to our country. I was watching something that really logged in on the ones in the desert right now. I had no idea how it looked, how the ones in the service had to cuss and really take on a different personality to be able to handle the combat. You know I know you have to keep to yourself unless a professional what goes on in the services. It just breaks my heart. I wore a bracelet during the Vietnam war for someone who was a POW. I finally found him but he past away a few years ago. I didn’t mean to write you a book.




How it made me feel: It made me so sad but happy at the same time because you are encouraging the troops to seek help. I dated someone who was in Vietnam years ago and wanted so bad to fix him but I couldn’t. Back in that day they didn’t welcome the service man home like they did the other men. You made me see everything and that’s what I think you wanted to do. You really brought out everything and your writing is so good.




Did it connect to the human experience? Yes, and I personally want to thank you for sharing. You should think of writing everyday a devotional book to sell on Amazon because the men in the service need them. Thank you!

How it made me feel: Feel like it was me in my youth floating in the grassy fields behind my house in the school yard but now I read in and dream of being in a French meadow! I felt so good reading it and imagining.

What made me drawn to review this piece: The title reminded me of the old folk song, “Where Have all the Flowers Gone?” Just about like the song the poem is indeed wonderful.

What made me drawn to review this piece: Just the name would make someone want to know more. It’s a bold word which draws you in....maybe because of the Once Upon a Time makes me think of old loves.





How it made me feel: Sad in some ways but in another way it made me happy. If you experience this kind of love but once in a lifetime it is more than what some get. I love the feeling of the poem and the way it was structured. I love poetry.
