This is really well written, and I love the suspense of the whole ordeal. You carry it through very well, and do a fine job at resolving it at the end. :) I really enjoyed this read.

This is very well written, and suggests a very interesting concept. I love your language, the imagery is intense. The concept of equating freedom with power is very curious, especially with how you define power, that is, being able to survive anywhere. It definitely lends itself to interpretation, which I love, and it leaves something to ponder on. Elegant and brilliant.
