Thanks, Harry - another well written poem. It is strange that as I read it, the soldier on leave could have been an American, so I was a bit surprised when I read the ending and he was a Nazi soldier. So many were killed - had to be one of the worst and claimed so many lives of our soldiers who fougt to end this war in Germany. Many of the survivors will never forget, as they were freed from the death camps.
No errors noted and again, well written and honest.

I read your entry with interest. Although I wasn't old enough to remember it well, I later in life learned of the tragety that happened to these young men and how so many were killed. This prelude to the Omaha Beach story is very well written\. No errors noted, and it was a realistic picture of the troops going into their first and for many, last, battle.
