Your compelling words have quieted my spirit today. Why is it that when we get the things we have hoped and prayed for we feel bewildered about how it all happened? I am often reminded to be careful of what I whisper to the universe because the universe is always listening. But, I guess if we carefully crafted all of our prayers into perfectly worded requests, the universe would not answer such robotic petitions completely void of emotion and genuine need. So, I continue to allow my heart to lead me to the places the universe wants me to be.
Somehow, your words are cleansing to me. I am meditating on an ending in my life (the death of my brother) and if it is to be a new beginning for my family. I am meditating on his matter (his body) being transformed to energy (his spirit) and returning to its source (the God of all humanity). I am also praying that I will live long enough to see humanity begin to be what God intended for us to be in the first place (extensions of His love). But if I should myself transition to eternity before this miracle, I pray that my life was exactly this extension in however small the circle I have touched.
Chaplain Schrebe, thank you for your insight into the birth of Christ. His birth is a reality for those of us who believe, even without scientific proof, but the support of science secures our belief that much more. Your writing shows research, thought, and credibility and is welcome encouragement during this difficult time in history that we are experiencing now.
Natashakye, your writing is very clear and concise and your message resonates with me at this moment in my life. I don't think any of us would ever venture into loving someone if we truly understood how temporary love and life actually is. But the beauty of loving, even if only for a short time, is the moments of love we remember forever. Once we love someone, that love becomes a part of our being and affects who we are and what we do for the remainder of our lives. Hopefully, it makes us better human beings...more compassionate and gentle in spirit towards the people we meet and interact with daily. Sometimes, if our experience with loving someone did not end well, we may be bitter for a time. But eventually, the tenderness of what we shared with them becomes the dominant memory and we are therefore that much more tender towards potential new lovers.

This is a very touching story. It reminds me that what may be junk to some is actually a great treasure to others. It also reminds me that we should treat everyone with worth and dignity because we do not know what has happened in a person's life that makes them who they are. God loves and values all of us and so we should value each other because blessings can come from the most unlikely of places.
This is a beautiful sentiment of the hope that a heart always has in the future. I have never heard of a quatrain before but I especially like its use here. It builds the emotional commitment necessary for hope to thrive. No matter how a heart is broken, it can always heal with the hope of love in better days to come. Nicely done.
This is a sweet story. It gets to the core of what we really need from love as opposed to the solitary moments of fascination we sometimes experience when meeting someone new. I like how you used the prompts. They blended nicely into the story and didn't seem too ridiculous. You made it clear what you wanted to say about love and your point is well taken. I like the conflict that is building in this story. Already, I can tell there will be tension between Tony and Mary's families. This makes it interesting to see how their budding love for each other will or will not overcome the obvious obstacles. I like love stories that have some tension and conflict in them. It makes the triumph in the end that much sweeter. At least I'm hoping this story will have a happy ending. I'll look forward to following Tony and Mary as their attraction grows.
This tale gave me chills after reading it but it also gave me much to think about. Can we love someone too much making them too dependent on us and angry if we don't give them what they think we should? This story could apply to many different types of relationships. It is true that sometimes we have to let go of relationships that we have outgrown or can't contribute to anymore, painful as that may be.
The story was brief but to the point. The sentences flowed well and led up to the dramatic ending. A very good read.
The description and imagery in this story is excellent. I especially enjoyed the simple pleasure of loving someone in the everyday moments of life. This simple pleasure is inspiring and what make love worthwhile. Nicely done.
