Good account! the most feared thing on the trail drive is the stampede. You set the tone and the mood quite well. I almost got the shivers myself fighting the sideways rain! You also dipicted well the death that happens during a stampede. One piece of edit advice for the sake of the reader...You could develop the character of the Mexican boy and make the reader fall in love with him before you kill him. This has a major impact of drawing emotion from your reader! Thanks for the post! Dave
