Funny story, just enough description for me to see what was happening. I thought the grandma must have passed on during the candle blowing scene, very morbid of me, I know. I enjoyed reading this. Great writing!

I liked how it starts dramatically and eases itself toward a subtle ending. I wonder if there is a one syllable word that could replace rain in the third stanza? Just something about using the same word twice. It's not substantial enough for me to subtract from the rating though! Great writing!
