My mother was an abused wife. She never had much to say to us about the abuse which we three children witnessed all the years of her marriage to our father. It is such an awful thing. Your poem is like giving expression to the words she never said.

It is a remarkable read. I hope it is not from your personal experience.

I miss my mother, who filled in much of the hours of my youth, my searching, my crisis and my crying.
