I enjoyed your poem very much and felt it got stronger as it progressed.
The writing was much more vivid toward the end.

Hi Dave, Love the poem. The imagery brings to mind days when I was little, playing in the snow and the huge snowflakes gently drifting down. It is ruined, however, by the reality of the last twelve hours or so of blizzard we are in the middle of. Snow flying vertical over cows and their babies. Drifts piling up as we speak. But...I still love the poem. I enjoy free verse. Later this month I am to attend a workshop givin by Ted Kooser. Hoping to get back to the writing soon.

Wonderful story. I love animals and love giving them personalities and human qualities. Bad combinations for a rancher. Makes the bad things that happen that much worse. But I got sidetracked. It is very entertaining and well written in my opinion. I hope you will write more about Whiskers adventures.
I enjoyed your poem very much. I thought the imagery was very good. And your use of metaphors was good. I could see the bridges and prairie dogs. Loved it. Very humorous story of a not so humorous turnout gives people perspective. Pets try our patience, but give us so much in return. I hope you will check out my writing attemps. Later today I will be including a piece about my own trying bird.
