My wife and I experienced a very similar situation about a year ago but, it was the wife's mother. Her step-father, now in the same nursing home, will be joining his wife soon enough. We will be there for him as we were for Mom. I only wish we could find someone from his family willing to spend time with him before he passes.

Thanks for letting me see the view through your eyes. Rarely do we take time to realize the impact on those in charge of their daily care.

Loved it. Are we related or do we just share a common brain-wave-level of existance? Unfortunately, my dad was no tougher than either one of us. I feared my mom. Come to think of it, it's the same type of fear I have of my wife. Never though of it before now. Very strange.
