Review of Mary Jane's Grave
Review by mattmatt

An nice atmospheric tale, with a great twist at the end - Auntie Mary! This is perhaps a little diluted by the paragraph that finishes the story, so I wonder if it should be moved, just so that the shock is right at end?

A couple of other points - you say she's buried under the same tree. Is this the tree she was hung from? Also, there should be a space in "eachother".

Overall, I really liked your spooky tale! More please!

Review of Hunted

Hey petal,

Nice poem! You say you were 14 when you wrote this, so I hope that you've either carried on writing poetry or that you've decided to start again, because I think you have some talent.

It's written from the fox's perspective, and you capture well the panic that the hunt causes in the "minds" of animals. I like the way we leave the scene before the inevitable, bloody conclusion. Keep writing!!

Hi,

this is a learned, well-thought out and well-argued essay. I'm not too knowledgeable about current attempts to link concern for animal welfare to the faiths of Judaism and Christianity, but from the little I do know, I would say that the majority of believers wouldn't necessarily make the connection themselves. This is in no way a criticism of your work - simply an observation.

You, on the other hand, go back to the source material and mine it to good effect to provide solid support for your convictions. I would like to know, however, if you approached the Bible in order to find evidence for your point of view, or if you came to these beliefs as a result of reading it. I would hazard a guess that it is the former.

Thought-provoking and well-research and different. I like :)
