Hey,
I really liked your piece of writing.
The best part was the way you portrayed the protagonist. He was once strong, young, but now old and weak. I think you should include the name of this man somewhere towards the beginning. The character building was very good and I also liked how the chapter ends on a despairing note, telling the readers that the protagonist has resigned himself to what others consider his 'death'.
