A man contemplates his choice as a writer.
#1613596 by Karen Winters Schwartz

Dear Karen Winters Schwartz ,

Hey! I didn't know we'd even met, lol! What a wonderful story. I think many of us have lived in this mans world of caring only about but our craft of writing; often to the exclusion of everything else. Such an addiction this! I am certain, having read your bio block and seeing you're about to have a book published, this could just as easily be an auto-biography.

I enjoyed it very much. Thank you and all the best with your book!

Kindly,

Obleo

My soul bird is caged in my thoughts..
#1516177 by ystab

Dear ystab

I found this piece both delightful and painfully truthful. OMG, which of us here hasn't experienced that many times?! Your metaphor of the bird trapped in the cage is masterful. One really does feel trapped and is truly unable to escape the cage in our mind, created by our muse, until the words finally flow onto the page. Only then are we free to go on with the business of living.

Wonderful!

Thank you,

Obleo

Cute story. Makes me long for the days when my chldren were young and interested in going on camping trips and such together. Alas, they grow up and become independant all too fast fr my taste. Though in truth they are only doing what I taught them to do! Another of the great ironies of life I guess.

Thanks for the story and the memories.

Regards,

I have played Santa for years. It is a puirely selfish indulgence and allows me as a fifty-something year old man to enjoy the magic of the season through the childrn I get to see. So this story really hit home for me. I LOVE IT!

It was also very true to life and extremely well written in my humble opinion!

Thanks and MErry Cristmas just a tiny bit early from me!

A beautifully moving tribute to your sister. My heart aches for your loss and yet, I cannot help but feel that you are enveloped in each others love and adoration still. Obvisously she was a great inspiration to you then and from your writing and this piece in particular remains to today. I've no doubt she is beaming with pride at the manher little brother has become through this adversity.

God Bless!

Bravo, bravo!
Fantstic write!

I laughed my head off. Overall I thought the poem was exceptionally well written. The rhyme was flawless.

The piece stumbled a tiny bit in a few places but for the most part flowed incredibly well, especally considering the length of the piece.

As a whole the poem was a work of sheer creative genious in my humble opinion. Seriously on of the best things I've read in some time.

The message was right on the mark as well, and all conveyed in such a gentle, fun and lighthearted manner. Too funny!

I'm adding you to my favorites, Write on! Write on! Please write on.

Ken,

First let me offer my most heartfelt condolences for your loss. Even though I know we often write as a form of therapeutic release, I cannot even begin to comprehend the courage it must have taken to pen this beautiful poem so soon after your partners death. Bravo my friend, bravo!

I am certain that your sweet love is pleased with your wonderful tribute and the depth of understanding and loving sacrifice her illness and ultimate passing had on you alone is tribute enough for anyone.

May God bless you and yours, especially at his difficult time, is my sincere wish for you.

Kindest regards,
Ray

I absolutely loved each piece. You are a very accomplished writer. Personally, I love prose and your poetic voice coming thruigh along with your wonderfully vibrant descriptive style was a sheer joy to read. I enjoy my visit to the spinsters funeral-wedding-such a fitting tribute, the smoky old New York watering hole of yesteryear-at least I believe it was New York and finally the circus. Oh, how I love a circus and its been years scince I've been...until today. Thank you!

I was intrigued as this was the only item in your portfolio not yet rated. Admittedly, I've never cared much for haiku's, probably because I haven't understood the form. However, understanding or not I was transported across space and time as I read and experienced the oneness with nature and the world ou so aptly portrayed.

Thank you for the experience,
