I enjoyed the story very much. There were a couple of things that could have been written differently though. "told me that I was on the right direction" I think, "I was headed in the right direction" would have worked better.
And, mysteriously, they all died but him. Maybe try, Mysteriously everyone died except for him.
Writing is a lot like painting and you being the painter can do what ever you feel. These are merely suggestions which means can do with them as you feel. I hope that you find them useful.
Again I really enjoyed the piece. Keep it up!
