This was scary and to see the progression made it a frightening story. What got me about this story though was how could an old woman quite frail make her way back to the house through a storm that way, find a way in, and overpower a healthy young woman. But, I suspended disbelief and enjoyed the story anyway so it's not a huge thing. I noticed the old woman had made it into the house, perhaps that was just Susan's nightmare. Perhaps if the ornament went after her next, the ideas that flood my head about this story are endless. Which is what I like about it, the story has many different routes that could make way for a sequel or something.
Overall I love it, keep writing!
