short poem, about beauty that is lost in indifference
The colors swirl,
on the midnight sky,
as the lights from the city
reflect upon the clouds.

The moon lies behind them,
still and white,
waiting for her chance
to take the stage and shine.

But the lights and the clouds
pale her complexion
and she fades farther
into the midnight sky.

A last forgotten jewel,
in a discarded crown,
that is hidden away
From a world too jaded to care.
