It's much easier to shoot the looters.
The Looters

She trudged along through waste-high water, carrying bags of shoes,
Taken no doubt, from the nearby shoe store.
“There’s glass on the streets, under the water and I got no shoes,”
She tells the confrontational reporter, matter-of-factly.
“The rest in the bags are for my family.”

At least, I think, she’s got her priorities right.
Let’s see…water won’t be gone for six months?
How many shoes, cans of food, dresses, TVs, anything else
Are going to be salvageable after that,
Sitting in the fetid swamp,
Rusting, rotting and decomposing?

The seeds of destruction were sewn
Long before the storm dumped these lumpen on the streets.
So, instead of feeding and clothing them,
Let’s shoot them.
That makes it much easier for the insurance companies
To verify inventory.
