My contest entry
I cradle sweet dreams in my head. Every time I sleep, my dreams grow more and more hopeful.
The shine I see in your eyes is enough to change me for life. I clutch your photo and keep hoping the phone will ring and your voice I’ll hear again. Then I remember all that’s happened at that sweet blue skies changes into a dark nightmare. I know that things will break and bend but I still miss you. There’s just no more for us, no more that we can have. And all, all that I want is to dream again, and to be able to hold you close at night. But for now, those hopes are nothing more than shattered glass.
