A dying girl wants to meet her beloved just one time before she dies.
As I lie on my deathbed
I am thinking of you,
Wondering why fate never
Let you have my last view.
Why cant I ever
Have you beside my bed?
Why can’t you just come
And lovingly kiss my forehead?
Why can’t you be right here
To take me in your arm
And drown me in your magic,
And keep me nice and warm?
Why, oh why couldn’t you take
Your strides besides mine,
So that never in the road
Would I lag behind?
Never did I get the answers
To the questions I pose today,
But I hope you’ll be here
With me on my last day.
