When God and Satan make a wager, the world is left hanging in the balance
"My Lord, please stop pacing"!

"I can not help it Gabriel. My Father and Satan are off to their old tricks this time and I believe my Father is going to let something bad happen this time".

Gabriel threw his long blonde hair back and shook his head to further prove his next statement, "Your Father has never lost a contest with his old rival, Scratch".

Jesus smoothed down his dark brown beard carefully and nodded. "You're right. I should not worry Gabriel".

Gabriel smiled and as he did a chair made of clouds formed up from the pure white ground. They were in the throne room of God. The gigantic throne of God was at the center. The sheer beauty of the throne radiated off to further illuminate the already perfectly lighted Heaven interior. The holiness from the throne was another question. Just the fact that his father sat at the throne caused it to radiate such a power that whenever new comers came in they immediately fell to their knees regardless of whether he was currently sitting in the chair or off doing Godly things. Next to the large throne, only a couple of feet shorter than his father's, sat Jesus's throne. Of course, whenever his father was not around Jesus often a time sat in his father's throne wondering what it was like to create the whole world and create the first humans. However, that piece of his father that was in him brought those memories back to mind whenever he sat in the chair and he would say, “Oh, that’s how I did it”.

Gabriel sat down on his cloud chair that had formed from his will and leaned back. "Another game my Lord"?

Jesus's face pinched as he thought about it and he pulled up his pure white sleeve of his pure white gown to look at his wrist as if a watch were there. Gabriel smiled at the joke.

Jesus looked up, smiled, then spoke, "For the angel who delivered the message of my birth? Of course. Besides, I don't have to go intercede for those Pygmies in New Guinea until another thirty human minutes pass".

Gabriel clapped his hands in happiness and as he did a cloud rose up in front of him taking the shape of a table. On top of the cloudy table a chess board appeared. "Go easy on me my Lord", Gabriel asked.

"Don't I always", Jesus answered.

"I do not believe so. I lose every time".

"Ah, not everyone can be perfect".

"May I be white this time"?

"And I be black? I must abstain from appearance as I am pure".

"Lord, I have not sinned".

"My friend, you have not been human either".

The two forces had met in a celestial place, half of it golden and light filled. This is where God sat in a simple large plain wooden rocking chair. Satan sat in his own area, it was red and dark, evil swirled about it. Satan himself sat in a large recliner, relaxing.

God blew air out of his mouth and twiddled his thumbs in a boring manner. "Hurry up Scratch. I have business to attend to".

Satan smiled a devilishly evil smile, his long fangs extending below his lower teeth. "Patience my friend. I have business to attend to as well".

God frowned, "I know you do. You’re always busy. Which is why I am having such a time recently".

Satan's smile never left his face, "I know, I know. Isn't it wonderful? It would seem I am winning souls every day". At this he laughed.

God shook his head. "You know the Great Revival is soon to be at hand. Many will come over to my side".

"And many will not", the Devil finished.

God did not move yet his celestial being invisibly shrugged. "It's inevitable. As is your fate. I think you know this. I think you are trying to take as many as you can with you. It's sad that many will follow you, but everyone will have their chance. Judgment will come".

"Blah blah blah", Satan said, "I've heard it all. I read your book on it, remember? I'm your biggest fan, but I don't see it happening that way".

God shook his head, "How can you be so blind? Has your vanity truly done this to you? As you can see by your new reflection your appearance reflects what is in your heart".

Satan's smile disappeared and his eyes squinted, but cunning as ever he held up his hand and a hand held mirror appeared in it. He looked at himself in it and his forked tongue came out to slide across his fingers. He then ran his fingers over his bald head as if he was smoothing some hair back. "Ya know, I actually don't mind the big horns and whatnot. Scares the crap out of people".

This of course, was quite the come back, but God was not hindered. Without missing a beat he added, "Like Brandon? You sure scared him to death didn't you"? God laughed afterwards, a deep baritone laugh that flowed out of his mouth like a golden web. The sound of it stinging Satan's ears and causing him to wince. Especially with the mention of Brandon.

A man named Brandon was Satan's latest attempt to create a fallen servant. A fallen servant was a Christian who fell from grace. Backslid. Whatever you want to call it because everyone knows, even the ones who deny it, deep down know that once saved always saved is the most unholy bull shit theory to ever appear on the Earth. It was the Devil's way of saying, "Do what you want. It's okay", when it really isn't. The fallen servants were very useful. They tended to be more evil than normal people, people who were bad, but could easily be Christians, and over all they caused other Christians to fall in behind them very quickly. Brandon was the spiritual leader at his church. He wasn't the preacher, but he was the spiritual leader. Satan had thrown every single thing he could at him and Brandon had shrugged it off. Even when Satan had appeared in his true form to him trying to frighten him Brandon had called upon the name of Jesus, and of course, God kept his promise that he had spoke about in his number one seller and Satan had been forced to flee.

"So you won one little battle", the Devil spit angrily, "I've won many many more outside of our bets".

"Get to the point", God yelled and he stood up causing a bright light to shine out in all directions.

The light struck the Devil as did God's voice and it sent Satan flying backwards off his recliner into the wall at the back of his area.

Satan crept up behind his recliner and peeked his head over it. "I have a deal".

"I don't make deals with you".

"Aw come off. We make bets. We create games. It's the only thing we can do because if we fight all of Heaven, Hell, and the Earthly Universe would be in chaos, much of it destroyed. The battle would last ages".

"And I would win", God said definitely.

"Ah yes", Satan said, "Perhaps. I am very powerful and growing more powerful every day with these souls".

"You fool even yourself Scratch. I created you. I can destroy you. I created you with much power yes, but it was because you were that special one was the reason. Apparently I created you with too much beauty. I thought this not possible, but apparently it was".

Satan spat, "Are you still hiding the truth? You haven't even told our son yet have you"?

"He is my son alone"! God yelled.

"Of course", Satan said standing up, "Keep it your dark secret. Your only. That I am your wife. That's why I am so powerful, that’s why I was created so beautiful. Because you wanted a wife, you were lonely and when you failed to create your perfect wife you turned to humans"!

"And that is when you became jealous", God answered, "Jealously and Vanity...I should have destroyed you. But I didn't realize that my most perfect creation, my own wife would turn on me. I should have killed you".

Yes yes", Satan said, "but you couldn't bring yourself to do it then and now you do not want to fight. If you simply destroyed me you would never know which of your precious humans actually love you with all their heart. You use me like a tool. The hammer which comes down hard upon the gavel on Judgment".

God did not reply but instead simply stared into the Devil, his power causing Satan to drop onto her knees.

Satan peeked out from behind the recliner. "Ow, I um, Ouch! I want to make a proposition".

God stopped zapping Satan and looked at her hard. "I told you I don't make deals with you".

Satan raised her hands in self defense, "I didn't mean a deal. I meant another bet. Come, I know you can't be afraid of actually losing one of your bets, You haven't lost one yet".

"I do not need to be reminded. What do you have in mind"?

Satan stood up, her hands still up. "Another game with one of your saints. Temptation, Loss. You know the drill".

"And for what", God asked.

Satan smiled, "Check this out. If you win, which you always do. I will stop influencing people for an entire earth week".

God's expression stayed blank, however one of his eyebrow's raised slightly. A whole week without the Devil's influence? Imagine the possibilities with the people. Without any evil or negative influence at all for a whole week the entire of America and several other countries could be saved! God inquired, "And if I lose"?

"I simply ask for one week without your influence. An equal loss".

God lowered his head ever so slightly to think. Without his influence for an entire week almost every church would surely fall. Many many would turn to Atheism and some darker ones would turn to Satanism. Without prayers being answered and people being healed, without the holy spirit raging in Pentecostal churches. The consequences would be devastating. The positive side though, was of course if he won. It would be wondrous. God looked up at the Devil. "What’s the catch"?

Satan lowered her hands and smiled, "You must let me have absolute control and freedom for three days to do as I please".

God closed his eyes to think again. "Which one of my servants", he asked without opening his eyes.

Satan smiled, "I already have one in mind. This one", she said and threw a mental image into God's mind.

God looked at his servant. His name was Paul Green the third. He was tall, handsome, brown hair, brown eyes, with an athletic build. Paul Green was a preacher, unmarried, and he had a beautifully clean record. Not to mention he was one of the only people that could say he had never used God's name in vain. Paul Green had it in his mind that if he used that name in an incorrect way then he would surely keel over and die.

"He has so much faith", Satan crooned.

"Yes", God answered, "What are the conditions for winning and losing".

"I thought you would never ask", Satan replied, sliding her forked tongue between her sharp teeth. "If he gives up on you or says your name in vain then he loses. If he passes through all three days of my evil then he wins and you win".

God shook his head, "Yes, but you can not interfere with him directly. Physically hurt him until he simply says my name in vain or gives up on me. That would be unfair. And when it is done I can make things as they were before".

"Of course", Satan replied, "but you can not use any influence at all during the test".

God moved his head left to right as if contemplating it. He had never lost a bet, but of course, he had never given Satan such control to do as she pleased either. Even with the Saints, he had his limits. But if he won...
"I'll do it", God answered, "I have faith in Paul Green"

"Then we shake on it", Satan reached across the line that separated her area from God's.

The Lord reached across and shook Satan's hand and as soon as he touched it a sizzling sound was heard from the touching of skins.

Satan hissed and pulled back, her hand steaming and burning. God smiled. Satan hissed again speaking, "the power is mine to do as I please. Tomorrow morning Paul Green will wake up in Hell. Goodbye dearie, do call". With that Satan disappeared and her realm with her.

God was left alone in his own little area. He stayed standing in his holy place for a second wondering if he had made the right decision. He had just condemned Paul Green to much horror and pain, but if he won... He could fix it all. If he won, it would be worth it. There was nothing more to do but wait for tomorrow and watch from Heaven to see how things would go. With that he disappeared, his heavenly realm disappearing with him, leaving an empty space in the celestial dimensions.

"You did what"!

God sat down upon his throne. No one knew if he grew, or his throne grew smaller or a little of both but he immediately fit in the throne easily.

Jesus stood up next to Gabriel as Gabriel once more cried out, "You did what"!

God looked at Gabriel intensely.

"Never mind my Lord. Your will be done. If you made such a bet I am sure you know you will win it".

God lowered his head, "Actually I'm not sure if I will win. I took this bet rashly because of the prize but I gave Satan complete control".

"You did what"!

"Leave me Gabriel"!

"Sorry my Lord", Gabriel backed out of the throne room leaving only Jesus and the Father.

Jesus stepped forth, "Father...".

God slumped in his throne, "Me damnit. I should have consulted you I know. But you know the people better than I at times. Do you think Paul Green can pull this off"?

Jesus smiled, "this may be the trump card of humans. I spent time with this one recently and I do not believe Old Scratch knows it. What he does know is that Paul Green is a very devoted man and he used this to try and make the bet appear fair although it is not because he has complete control. As I said before though, Paul Green is an impressive servant. Time will only tell".

After this statement had been said by Jesus a loud howl was heard and from the white flooring of the throne room rose up a being made entirely of pale blue flames.
"THHEEE HOLY SPIRIT IS IN THE HOOOUUUSSSEEE! What is up big G"?

Both Jesus and God shook their heads.

"Now is not the time", God said.

"Oh come on", the Holy Spirit said disappearing and reappearing next to God's head on the throne, "I was ragin' in some churches a bit. Did ya feel it"?

God nodded, "Yes some, but I was too busy attending to some important business to really pay attention".

"Must be important stuff".

God sighed, "My son would you explain to your son our current situation and tell Holy Spirit why he can't move at all tomorrow".

“SAY WHAT?”

Paul Green tossed and turned in his sleep. He then woke up with a start. He had a horrible nightmare but he couldn't remember any of it. Paul sighed and laid back down. "Jesus touch me", he said and closed his eyes.

Of course Jesus heard his name being called and it technically not being 12 AM and the next morning yet he reached down and touched Paul's eyelids and whispered into his sleeping ear, "Sleep well, trials and diverse temptations begin soon".

Paul Green woke up to the smell of smoke. He quickly jumped out of bed. He had nothing on but his pajamas but it wasn't time to get dressed, it was time to see what was burning. He ran into the kitchen to find flames everywhere. They were hot and red. He swore as soon as he entered they all turned towards him and licked at his arms and legs. Paul backed away and ran towards the front door. Here he panicked. Because the front door was on fire and...that was the only thing that was on fire.

Paul looked to the left and right frantically. Nothing else was on fire around the door? How as that possible? It was as if someone had poured gas on the door and set it to fire for the sole purpose of killing him. Of course, that really didn't explain why the kitchen was on fire either but...Paul ran to the back door to find it set ablaze too. The living room windows! Paul ran back into the living room. The front door was still burning and Paul had the crazy delusion that it was on fire but not really burning. Like Moses's Burning Bush. The fire from the kitchen was now creeping along the carpet towards him. Paul turned and picked up his modest Television. With a mighty heave he threw it into the window. It crashed outwards, glass flying everywhere onto the front lawn. With that Paul jumped out the window, cutting his shoulder on the way out. He hit the ground feet first, felt the glass enter into them, and rolled to get off his feet. He rolled about four feet onto his back. He then inched his body around to watch his house immediately burst into flames everywhere and burn down before his eyes. A strange phenomenon. "Jesus", he prayed as everything he owned disappeared.

Down into another dimension below the earth, a place of fire and hellish appearance the Devil smiled as he sat on his wicked throne. Part one of his plan had taken action. Loss. Now came the real evil though. Satan's plan was going smoothly.

"Aw Paul, it'll be alright. I told you that you could live with us for a bit while your insurance is working on it".

Paul Green sighed heavily and looked over at his best friend Jim Common, who happened to be a Deacon at his church. "Thanks Jim. But I couldn't intrude on you and Anne".

"It's quite alright. Come on, don't worry about it. It'll be fine, you won't be that annoying will you"?

Paul laughed, "No. I will make it as if you didn't even know I was there then".

"I um Anne, I don't think that um...Anne, are you okay". Paul backed into a wall and Anne continued walking towards him, naked.

"It's perfectly fine Paul. He doesn't get home in another three hours. Plenty of time".

Paul couldn't help but look her up and down. Her slender naked body was well built. From the well rounded curves of her hips, to the large breasts that poured out from her chest, large and succulent, the nipples standing at attention, begging for attention. Anne was a beautiful brunette. She had a beautiful face, but at the moment, her naked body was the real beauty. From the tightness of her ass to the beautiful breasts, to the wet little spot between her legs. Paul couldn't help but look, but he turned away in time. It was a sin to look in lust.

Anne made a small whimpering noise and as Paul peeked one of his eye's open to look at the source he saw Anne with one of her fingers inside of her mouth, sucking on it. Her other hand was grabbing one of her large breasts and squeezing it hard.

"Oh Paul, fuck me Paul"!

"Anne, I can't...I don't mean to offend, your gorgeous, it's just...I...Jim...".

"Forget Jim. He can't fill me like I know you will. Touch me Paul. Please", she whimpered this last word moving towards him seductively.

She kept walking towards him and he was frozen in place. Every impulse in his body was telling him to reach out and simply touch her, but he knew this was wrong. She was married to Jim...it was adultery! Sin...

She stepped towards him and then stopped...exactly three feet away. She stood there cooing words and touching herself making moaning noises. Then started to move again.

Paul turned away, "I...I can't Anne, I'm sorry. Just leave me be, I won't say anything to Jim".

"Fine", Anne said and walked away to her bed room.

"NOOO"! Satan roared.

"It's okay Master", a small demon said nearby trying to keep Satan calm. When Master got mad…bad things happened.

"No...it's...NOT!", Satan roared, the force of it knocking the little demon over, "That was one of our most powerful weapons"!

"My Lord, you still have many left", the little demon cried, scrambling to his feet why he spit out, "perhaps this was not his weakness".

Satan looked at the demon and did not move his gaze. The fact that Satan's entity was actually a woman was kept secret to all his demons and servants. It was better this way.

The little demon for the life of him did not know what Satan was contemplating while he stared at him. But the look...it struck fear into his heart, fear and panic.

Those feelings did not leave even as Satan smiled, in fact they escalated, her sharp teeth (his sharp teeth to her servants) glistening. "You’re right", Satan crooned, "I still have plenty of time and plenty of things I can do...why...I can kill everyone on the planet but him if I wanted. I have the power...for three days".

The little demon cringed even more as Satan began laughing. The malice in that laugh was even more than the little demon could take.
