I wrote this while infatuated with an internet friend...
I have two versions of this, both of which are included; first, the original version, then I will post the revised version (the version I allowed my friend to read... yes, the friend I wrote this for).

Unedited version:
Sleepless nights spent on the phone
Have left me feeling more confused.
I don't know what I want this to be,
But I've longed for more than just a kiss.
Every day I hold inside
Thoughts of how you make me feel.
I like you more and more each day.
I haven't even met you, yet...
Somehow I know it's true;
Holding me right by your side
Is what I want from you...
Listening to your heart beating
As I fall asleep each night.
The things I look for in a man,
I've found them all in you.
I long for your arms to hold me tight,
To hear you say that you feel the same.
Someday I hope you'll whisper in my ear
The five greatest words I'll ever hear...
"Kelly, I love you, too."
But if that day never comes,
I'm happy being just a friend.

Here is the revised version, that I allowed him to read. I thought that if I changed it slightly, he wouldn't know it was about him... I was wrong.

Revised:
I've been feeling so confused;
I don't know what I want this to be...
I do no that I long for more than just a single kiss.
Everyday I hold inside
Thoughts of how you make me feel.
Somehow, I know it's true...
Lust grows stronger, day by day...
Lying right by your side
Is where I want to be.
Listening to the beating of your heart
Every night as I drift asleep.
The things I look for in a man,
I've found them all in you.
I long for your arms to hold me tight,
And to hear you say that you feel the same.
Somaeday, I hope you'll whisper in my ear
The five greatest words I'll ever hear...
"Kelly, I love you, too."
But if that day should never come,
I'm perfectly content staying a friend.

I wrote this in May 2005. Please, let me know what you think... I know it's missing something...
