Help you and your teen with each others feelings, heal the hurt, and strengthen your bond.
You're a teenager now, and I know it's hard,
Sometimes life doesn't always seem fair.
You're not an adult, and no longer a child,
This may not mean much, but I really do care!

You may not believe this, but I was your age,
I felt the same confused feelings you do.
You think I'm wrong, and I don't understand,
Yet, do you understand me, and my love for you?

You want to be free, you want me to let go,
You want to live your life as you please.
It won't be long, you'll be on your own,
Maybe then, you won't want to leave.

I want you to know, that I'm here for you,
To talk to, or listen, or just hold your hand.
I can give you advise, that you may not take,
I don't know it all, but I do understand.

I am letting go, yet still, trying to hold on,
Clinging to the child, I once held in my arms.
Praying each day, that you'll always be close,
Safe within reach, and safe from all harm.

You are my world, you are a part of me,
Wherever you go, whatever you do.
Remember I'm with you, and always will be,
And Forever Remember, I DO LOVE YOU!
