Documents exaxtly what it says on the tin!
Progress

A shattered cappuccino cityscape
Underneath a latte sky
Pretenders in their chinos
Marching slowly by
An added jaunt to every step
An effort to disguise
The mocha shade malaise
Staining the inside
Hollow lives framed out by networks
Meetings, stocks and shares
Realities left blinded
With Gucci’s gauche eyewear
So self involved important
Ignorant until the end
Like the miners and the rovers
All we ever do’s pretend
Pretend it will last forever
Not migrate overseas
To some cheap tin pot despot
Building up more shattered dreams
And as the skies roll over mocha
A shitty down pour threats release
Ashes to ashes, Dust to dust
Everyone will rust in piece
But at least we will all look good
In our gold Armani suits
In our bold burr walnut coffins
For history to loot
To loot, repaint. Recolor
The distinctly mocha view
Through a crystal prism filter
To a distinctly rosy hue
Of a world when we were winners
Where our happy days were long
A world bereft of sinners
Before it all went wrong
