Conflicting emotions as the persona of true love leaves the lover or the beloved
Drifting Afar
by R. Hirosue

Like the wind stopped, the clouds stood still,
As love parted, my heart instinctively knew.
I could not resist your passionate embraces;
Yet when you parted, you left no traces.

Love creeps up from behind me without the slightest hint;
You tear down my defences and rouse up my senses.
Love o so bittersweet, I fear your bitterness;
Yet to go without you, I fear my own sleeplessness.

Here I am and there you are,
Like dandelion fluffy white seed heads drifting afar.
When we awake from our dreams
To the sun at high noon on a day so clear,
Don't suppose we could keep on drifting, my dear?

Let me immerse in you for one last moment;
Nonetheless this will not reduce my total resentment.
If I can just let go and commit myself,
Burn me to ecstasy with all your torture and torment!
